Whether you’re already a Chase Sapphire Reserve® (Rates & Fees) or Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (Rates & Fees) cardholder — or thinking about becoming one — January 1, 2026, is a date to keep in mind. On that day, Chase will introduce a new benefit to both cards and enhance an existing one.
Here’s what to know about these upcoming changes.
Improvements Coming to Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve Business Benefits
Even though the Sapphire Reserve was recently overhauled and the Sapphire Reserve Business only just launched, changes are already on the way. Starting January 1, 2026, both cards will offer an enhanced benefit along with a completely new one.
Here’s what cardholders can look forward to:
- The Edit Credit (updated): Starting January 1, cardmembers will receive up to $250 back per prepaid bookings of two nights or more with The Edit, up to $500 annually. The credit will no longer be split into two six-month periods.
- New $250 Chase Travel hotel credit: Beginning in 2026, cardmembers can get up to $250 back on prepaid hotel bookings of two nights or more through Chase Travel at IHG, Montage, Pendry, Omni, Virgin, Minor, and Pan Pacific properties. These bookings also earn Ultimate Rewards points on any amount spent beyond the credit. Plus, you'll earn points in the corresponding hotel loyalty program on the full purchase amount.
These are purely positive changes. The updated The Edit credit will be simpler to use, and the addition of a brand-new hotel credit is simply icing on the cake. And it's also worth noting that these updates are being made without an annual fee increase.
To reiterate, these benefits won't take effect until January 1, 2026. Until then, the current The Edit credit restrictions still apply, and the new $250 Chase Travel hotel credit is not yet available.

Bottom Line
Chase re-launched the Sapphire Reserve earlier this year and rolled out the Sapphire Reserve Business on the very same day. But since then, the premium credit card landscape has changed a lot.
Other issuers have launched new products, and another big-name premium card is about to get its own major refresh. Chase adding and updating benefits this soon suggests the bank is trying to get ahead now rather than play catch-up later.
But these aren't changes that you can complain about. If you happen to have the Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Reserve Business card — or plan to get either — you’ll get access to new and updated benefits at the start of next year. Best of all, these enhancements come without a higher annual fee in exchange. It doesn't really get better than that.
