For many years, Bank of America has been offering a program which lets you visit museums for free. The program has changed over the years but the general premise has remained the same. Museums on Us, lets you use your Bank of America debit or credit card to gain access to a large array of museums across the country, on the first weekend of every month.
Museums on Us Program
Museums on Us is probably one of the most straightforward programs around.
- Head over to one of the more than 225 cultural institutions, which are spread out in almost every state.
- Produce your eligible Bank of America card and ID, and you get one free ticket
- The offer is open on the first Saturday and Sunday of every month. However, the offer does exclude special exhibitions, ticketed shows, and fundraising events.
- If you visit with a guest who is not a Bank of America cardholder, they will have to pay to gain entrance. The only exception is for Bank of America Preferred Platinum Honors members, who can use their status to get free entry for their family.
Participating Museums
There are more than 225 participating cultural institutions, spread out across almost every state. Alternatively, if you just want to find the nearest museum or participating museums in your state, you can make a simple query on the site using your zip code or other location.

This deal has been going on for a long time! Definitely put to good use.
Our family has started making an effort to visit more museums to expose ourselves to the arts. This offer has come at a very opportune time! There are only 3 museums in our city, but they change exhibits every so often. My daughter recently received a debit card, so we’re pretty happy!
WHAT A GREAT IDEA. DOES IT WORK FOR ANY BANK OF AMERICA CARD, LIKE A SPIRIT AIRLINE BOA CARD?
Yes.
What a cool perk! I had no idea about this – will definitely check into it!
Such a great perk to having their travel rewards credit card. It’s why I got one. Plus there are no annual or foreign transaction fees.
We’ve used this benefit several times. We just wish more museums/locations would participate.
I *love* going to museums and experiencing moving along from exhibit to exhibit and kind of losing myself for a few hours. Bank of America is to be commended for establishing this benefit.
Free museum entry? That’s a nice perk.
I’be been a BofA customer for about 6 years now and have always wanted to use the program but it was just never convenient. Maybe in 2017…
Sorry but BofA is the worst. I joined a credit union last year and have never looked back. Their credit card offerings are very sub-par in my opinion, and their checking and savings have way too many fee’s and gotchas to be worth it.
Quite a good deal for the popular bank. Never knew about such program before.
I dont usually go to museums but free is free. I just might try to go to several museums due to this program.
Very nice program.
As someone said above, I wish other banks/institutions will follow.
I looked into Bank of America because of this before but after going through restrictions, etc. I found it wasn’t worth it for me. I’d rather just use points to pay my credit card bill when those charges go through and be able to go anywhere I want when. If it was just me then I could see this being really good but otherwise no thank you. Thank you for the updated info on this! It’s a great perk but would love that the whole fam gets in free and maybe a guest.
It’s really nice to know this program and I am actually surprised by there are participating museum in my city, a rather famous one.
Suck that they removed the only museum close to me. Now i have probably hour and a half to two hours to go to the nearest one.
The Newseum is DC is a great museum to use this benefit to get in. It is a nice museum but so over priced.
headed to a museum soon!
My wife has a BofA debit card linked to our joint checking account. Since we travel together, we never got a second one in my name too. This information now motivates me to get one with my name on it too. Thanks for the useful information!
I love this benefit of the BOA cards. I only wish they have more museums
if my family member has the card, can I join ?
Yes, they can add you as an authorized user and you will receive your own card.
Thanks for the info. I never realized the scope of this program. This will really come in handy!
exactly ZERO museums in my state participate 🙁
there are some within driving distance in cities we occasionally visit, so I might be able to take advantage at some point….
This is an excellent opportunity to visit museums which otherwise you might never experience. – Great saving.
Its a wonderful opportunity to visit for free . I hope other banks take the hint and also do similar offers.
I wish other providers did more of this. Financial institutions benefiting public ones.
I think this is a wonderful program and wish other banks also offered this
I use this pretty often. Saves a good deal on museum admissions
I’ve used this deal before and it is a nice perk of the BofA program. I’d have to guess that if you had an authorized user, that person could get a free ticket too since I doubt the admissions team would check that closely.
