Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) represent everything that a typical hotel chain is not: personalized, often off-the-beaten-path, unique properties that stand apart from the standard chain hotel experience. SLH properties used to be bookable via World of Hyatt, though that partnership ended around the same time that Hyatt integrated Mr and Mrs Smith hotels into their portfolio.

While the Mr and Mrs Smith development ultimately underwhelmed due to dynamic pricing and the lack of integration into Hyatt's award charts, the Hilton-SLH partnership does the exact opposite. Among the 400 or so SLH properties bookable via Hilton Honors, a fair number stand out based on location, luxuriousness, and redemption value. Though not all-encompassing, the list below details several SLH properties that should excite Hilton Honors members.

How to Book SLH Properties via Hilton

Before diving into a list of hotels, it's worth highlighting how to find and book these hotels. SLH properties enjoy their own brand on Hilton's website, which can be used for straightforward searches. Around 400 of the roughly 570 SLH properties are available to book via Hilton Honors. There are even many SLH properties that can be booked through Hilton or Hyatt.

Finding these properties might be easy, but finding award space proves a bit trickier. The Hilton award calendar view is the first place to start when looking for available dates.

Another way to proceed is to search for dates available for paid stays and then check the box for “Use Points & Money.”

Travelers may also find success by searching the hotel website (separate from any Hilton webpage) for the specific standard room type. If it shows up as bookable in cash on the hotel website, chances are Hilton Honors members can book the same room as part of an award stay.

While several different room types might show as available for points redemptions, recall that only “Standard Room Awards” will qualify for Hilton fifth night free or Free Night Certificate redemptions. Luckily, SLH offers several different room types as standard awards at some of its most luxurious locations.

Lastly, a tool like maxmypoint could prove useful in finding calendar dates with standard rooms available to book with points.

Hilton SLH Properties of Interest

Remember that this list is not exhaustive, nor is it solely a show of which properties charge the most for paid stays. Though admittedly, such a list undoubtedly overlaps with a number of the properties below. Note that the lowest number of points for a standard room on this list is 105,000. The recent increases at the top end of Hilton properties to as high as 200,000 points per night have included SLH properties, meaning many of the hotels on this list have fallen prey to recent increases.

Although these point prices may seem steep, remember that you can regularly buy Hilton Honors points for 0.5 cents per point. Additionally, consider the various ways to earn Hilton Honors points, as well as the opportunity to earn Free Night Certificates through Hilton co-branded credit cards.

A Note About Valuations

Although all the valuations below are higher than the 0.5 cents per point you can typically buy Hilton Points for, there is a lot of seasonal fluctuation. The cash costs for the nights I chose may be on the high end or in the middle. All this to say, you need to check your dates as the cost — and thus the cents per point valuation you get — can vary widely.

Calala Island

This remote island escape takes quite an effort to reach. Thankfully, the 50-minute flight and 90-minute boat ride to get from Managua (MGA) to Calala Island are included as part of stays at the resort. In fact, everything is included at Calala Island. The resort calls itself “Ultra All-Inclusive,” which hints at the fact that guests at the 5-room, 10-guest-maximum island paradise can expect to get exactly what they desire during their stay. Be advised that all stays at Calala Island require 3+ nights, whether booking with cash or with points.

Bonus: British Airways flies twice a week from Antigua (ANU) to St. Kitts (SKB) over the winter period. This is one of the few opportunities for travelers to fly British Airways widebody business class without exorbitant taxes and fees. Expect to pay no more than 16,250 Avios for this route, plus just $25 in taxes and fees. During off-peak dates, the Avios cost drops to 15,000 points. A stay at Hermitage Bay could pair well with a stay at the Park Hyatt St. Kitts, with transport between the two via British Airways business class.

Milaidhoo Maldives

Hilton's SLH partnership adds six Maldives resorts to its already robust offerings among the idyllic atolls. Milaidhoo Maldives might just be the pick of the bunch. When the standard Room is an overwater villa with a private plunge pool, there's very little room for improvement. Those who venture beyond the confines of their luxurious villas will find a resort infinity pool, plus opportunities for scuba diving, windsurfing, coral reef preservation, and more.

The base room here, the Nanuku Suite, includes an outdoor terrace to take in the spectacular Fijian sunsets. South Bank

Turks and Caicos hosts three different SLH properties bookable via Hilton Honors: Point Grace Resort and Spa, Sailrock Resort, and South Bank. While all three properties offer travelers an oceanside escape to paradise, South Bank stands out in particular. Standard Rooms at South Bank include both one-bedroom and two-bedroom boat houses, the latter of which includes 2.5 baths, a full kitchen, and harbor views. Especially for a group traveling together, perhaps a family of four, being able to book into a two-story, two-bedroom accommodation enhances any trip. Each boat house reportedly boasts a private rooftop terrace, too.

Stein Eriksen Residences

Exciting Hilton SLH properties exist within the United States, too! Stein Eriksen Residences gives travelers a ski-in, ski-out option among the incredible slopes of Park City, Utah. There's plenty of après ski options as well for those not inclined to hit the mountains. There are multi-bedroom suites at this property, but it looks like those are not available at standard suite points prices.

New Hilton SLH Additions

Hilton is continually adding to their SLH portfolio, and in June 2025, several new properties were integrated into the Hilton Honors program. Below are a couple of luxury properties that fit with the others above.

L’Auberge de Sedona

Another U.S. property, L’Auberge de Sedona is an upscale, creekside resort nestled amid Sedona’s iconic Red Rocks. It features 62 cottages in a wooded setting plus lodge-style rooms and suites — all designed to blend natural beauty with luxury. The exceptional dining, holistic spa, and breadth of activities on and around the property make it an idyllic escape.

Tamarind Hills Resort and Villas

Although Hermitage Bay above boasts more exclusivity and an all-inclusive experience, at 190,000 per night, it's harder to stomach. Perhaps another Antigua property, Tamarind Hills Resort and Villas, is worth looking at. This boutique luxury resort is perched on a bluff between two white‑sand beaches — Ffryes and Darkwood — offering stunning sea and sunset views. This is the perfect resort to put your feet up and relax.

  • Standard room points cost: 120,000 points
  • Standard room type: Tamarind Studio, Ocean View Studio
  • Sample stay cash cost: $751
  • Sample stay cents per point: 0.63

Final Thoughts

The SLH properties highlighted above are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to redemption possibilities through the SLH partnership with Hilton. Even better, Hilton's integration of these priorities makes it seamless to redeem points for SLH stays, as long as award space can be found. A number of these properties also make excellent uses for points and free night certificates.

The recent increases to all of these properties are disappointing, making the Free Night Certificates and fifth night free options even that much more valuable. By expanding the number of exciting redemption options in its portfolio, Hilton substantially improved the worth of its loyalty program.
