Back in October 2024, Hyatt Hotels acquired The Standard Hotels and its associated brands, StandardX and Bunkhouse Hotels. Now, these properties are starting to become bookable through the World of Hyatt app and website, with all the usual benefits you’d expect from Hyatt.

So, what are The Standard Hotels, and when will you be able to book them with World of Hyatt points? Here's what we know.

What Are The Standard Hotels?

The Standard Hotels include 11 properties around the world, plus two under the StandardX brand. In the U.S., you’ll find them in New York City and Miami Beach, while international locations include Ibiza, Bangkok, and London.

They’re known for their uniqueness and lack of the “standards” of a normal hotel chain. This means that you can expect hyper-local experiences, nightclubs, fantastic food and drink, and only the most hip and cool, yet discerning, clientele.

What Benefits Can You Get as a World of Hyatt Member at The Standard?

Now that The Standard Hotels are officially part of the World of Hyatt program, you can expect the same benefits you’re used to. You’ll earn points on your stays, get extra rewards with co-branded Hyatt credit cards, and progress toward a Hyatt Brand Explorer award on your first stay.

  • Earn 5X Base Points for every eligible dollar spent at participating The Standard and StandardX hotels
  • Get an extra 4X Bonus Points per eligible dollar if you pay for your stay with a co-branded Hyatt credit card
  • Collect elite qualifying nights and earn towards Milestone Rewards with every eligible stay
  • Unlock new perks through award chart participation and on-property elite benefits
  • Explore three new brands (The Standard, StandardX, and Bunkhouse Hotels) to earn Brand Explorer credits

And yes, your Hyatt elite status benefits will be honored across all these properties. Just because it's a new brand doesn’t mean you'll miss out.

When Can You Redeem Hyatt Points for Stays at The Standard?

If you’ve been earning points and wondering how to redeem them, there’s good news. Unlike recent Hyatt additions, there’s no new award chart, and points pricing won't be tied to the cash rate of the room. Instead, The Standard is being integrated into Hyatt's existing award chart structure.

That means you can use any Hyatt free night certificates for a stay at The Standard Hotels. And you’ll have a good idea in advance of how many points you’ll need to book a night, whether that’s for some well-earned rest or a livelier getaway. But make sure Hyatt pulls the right certificate from your account.

However, not all properties are going live at once. Instead, it’ll be a phased rollout throughout May 2025:

  • May 7, 2025
    • The Standard Ibiza — Category 6
  • May 14, 2025
    • The Standard London — Category 6
    • The Standard High Line (NYC) — Category 6
    • The Standard East Village (NYC) — Category 6
  • May 21, 2025
    • The Standard Bangkok — Category 4
    • The StandardX Bangkok Riverfront — Category 2
    • The StandardX Melbourne — Category 3
    • The Standard Hua Hin — Category 2
    • The Standard Maldives — Category 6
    • The Standard Singapore — Category 5
  • Coming Soon (Date TBD)
    • The Standard Pattaya — Category 3
    • The Standard Brussels — Category 4
    • Bunkhouse Hotels (integration on the way)

How to Get Maximum Value Out of the Hyatt-Standard Hotels Partnership

The ability to use your free night certificates adds huge value, especially at properties that fall within Categories 1 through 4. For higher-tier hotels, you can use a Category 1 to 7 certificate or redeem points at a solid rate.

Since Hyatt is a transfer partner of both Bilt Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards, booking a free stay in one of these major cities is more accessible than ever.

If you’re dining at one of the on-site restaurants, remember that anything charged to your room (excluding alcohol) will earn points as well.

Personally, I think using points for a stay at The Standard Maldives could be a game changer. Once availability opens, I expect those award nights to go fast. If you’re thinking about a trip and planning to transfer points from Chase or Bilt, it’s worth moving quickly.

What’s Next for The Standard and World of Hyatt?

The Standard, StandardX, and Bunkhouse are all in the process of joining World of Hyatt. The biggest update still to come is the full integration of Bunkhouse Hotels. These properties tend to be located in lively, offbeat destinations that still offer easy access to the action.

Bunkhouse also operates experiences like Jo’s Coffee in Austin, though there’s no word yet on whether those non-hotel concepts will be included in the Hyatt partnership.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt is finalizing its integration with The Standard, giving members the ability to earn and redeem points at a range of one-of-a-kind properties around the world. The decision not to create a separate award chart is a major win for members. With Bunkhouse Hotels joining soon, there will be even more ways to stretch your points further.
