JetBlue Move to Mint certificates are a cool perk offered to the higher tiers of TrueBlue Mosaic members. These certificates let you enjoy the comfort and service of the airline's premium Mint cabin for the cost of economy. And it doesn't matter whether you've booked with cash or by redeeming TrueBlue points.

In this short guide, we'll cover how to earn and use Move to Mint certificates.

What Are JetBlue Move to Mint Certificates?

JetBlue Move to Mint certificates let you upgrade a flight from the economy cabin to JetBlue's premium Mint cabin. These certificates are an exclusive benefit to those with JetBlue TrueBlue Mosaic elite status.

Unlike many other U.S. airlines, JetBlue does not offer complimentary Mint upgrades to elite members based on status. Instead, Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4 members receive Move to Mint certificates, allowing them to confirm an upgrade in advance — making them a pretty valuable perk.

Each Move to Mint certificate upgrades a single flight from economy to Mint. If your itinerary includes multiple segments where JetBlue offers its most premium cabin, you'll need a separate certificate(s) for each upgrade.

You might assume that one certificate upgrades one flight, but that's not always true. The number of certificates required varies by flight, and JetBlue displays this information before booking. We'll cover this in detail later, but first, let's look at how to earn Move to Mint certificates.

How To Earn Move to Mint Certificates

JetBlue TrueBlue members earn four Move to Mint certificates when achieving Mosaic 3 status. JetBlue recently revamped its elite program, introducing a tile-based qualification system. Earning Mosaic 3 requires 150 tiles, which you can accumulate by booking travel through JetBlue or using a JetBlue credit card.

If you each 250 tiles to reach Mosaic 4, you'll receive two additional Move to Mint certificates. JetBlue will continue to award two more certificates for every additional 100 Mosaic tiles you earn.

Once you've earned Move to Mint certificates, they'll appear in “My Dashboard” when you log into your JetBlue TrueBlue account.

How To Use Move to Mint Certificates

One big plus is that you can complete a Move to Mint certificate redemption completely online. This has been the case since the certificates were first launched. However, JetBlue has improved the experience by letting you see how many Move to Mint certificates are required for a given flight before you book the ticket.

Check how many certificates are required

To see how many JetBlue Move to Mint certificates are required for a Mint upgrade on a given flight, head to JetBlue.com. Search for your desired itinerary. When you select the economy cabin on a given flight, you'll be shown how many Move to Mint certificates are required. However, you must be a Mosaic member to see this information. Otherwise, it won't show up.

At times, only one certificate will be required. However, some itineraries may require up to four Move to Mint certificates for a single upgrade. This is unfortunate, but it makes sense for popular routes and times.

My first Move to Mint upgrade only required a single certificate. However, a second trip required four certificates — two for the cross-country outbound and two for the return. On the plus side, I got to experience the new JetBlue Mint cabin on my return flight.

Confirming your Move to Mint certificate

Before you apply a Move to Mint certificate, you'll need to book a ticket. Given that you can determine how many certificates are needed, this final step is rather straightforward. Obviously, you don't want to book a ticket that requires three Move to Mint certificates when you only have two.

Once you've booked your ticket, navigate to “Manage Trips.” Select the trip where you wish your apply Move to Mint certificates, and walk through the rest of the steps. JetBlue will send you an email confirmation of your Move to Mint upgrade.

Final Thoughts

JetBlue Move to Mint certificates are an awesome benefit of Mosaic status. While JetBlue’s route network isn't as extensive as some larger U.S. airlines — and frequently changes — it does have strong coverage in select leisure markets. And its semi-recent expansion into transatlantic routes has also been a welcome addition.

JetBlue’s Mint cabin is a top-tier product and is more than competitive with other airlines’ business-class offerings. Personally, I’ve enjoyed every Mint experience I’ve had, and Move to Mint certificates make those experiences accessible for the price of economy.
