As of today, March 31, 2025, Loganair has made a major change to its loyalty program: Clan Points are out, and Avios are in. The Scottish regional carrier has officially renamed its loyalty program to Logan Loyalty, with all existing members receiving a sizable Avios boost — up to 64% more points based on past activity.

Even better, Avios can now be transferred between Logan Loyalty and British Airways Executive Club — especially appealing now that all Loganair flights cost a flat 6,500 Avios.

Here's everything you need to know about these Loganair changes.

What Is Loganair?

Loganair is a small regional airline headquartered in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, UK. It operates a fleet of turboprop aircraft, serving airports across the northern UK, Northern Ireland, and the Scottish Isles. The airline is a cult favorite for operating the world's shortest commercial flight between Westray to Papa Westray.

Loganair Overhauling Loyalty Program, Converting Clan Points to Avios

Until now, Loganair's loyalty program was called “Clan Logan,” through which passengers earned and redeemed Clan Points exclusively on Loganair flights.

As of March 31, 2025, the regional airline has rebranded its loyalty program as Logan Loyalty. As part of this transition, all existing Clan Points have been converted to Avios. Rather than using a set conversion rate, all recent flights have reposted at higher rates based on this chart:

All Loganair loyalty members should see a 62.5-64% increase to their loyalty points balance reflected in their account as of today:

Transfer Loganair Avios to British Airways

What's more, you can now link your Logan Loyalty account to your British Airways Club account and transfer Avios between the two. To do so, head to this Avios.com page, log in using your British Airways account credentials, and select Loganair from the expanded list of options.

Earning Avios For Loganair Flights

The switch to Avios means you'll earn Avios on Loganair flights according to the fare type, as follows:

  • Fly: earns 410 Avios.
  • Fly Flex: earns 650 Avios.
  • Fly Flex+: earns 1,300 Avios.

Interestingly, neither the distance nor the cost of the flight matters for earning purposes. This unique approach means the program is neither strictly revenue-based nor distance-based.

Redeeming Your Avios For Loganair Flights

Loganair flights have a fixed redemption rate of 6,500 Avios plus taxes and fees, regardless of the route length. This means a longer flight — such as Aberdeen to Norwich — costs the same in Avios as the world's shortest commercial flight from Westray to Papa Westray, which lasts around 90 seconds.

Considering how expensive some Loganair flights are, this new redemption option makes for a new Avios sweet spot! For example, take a flight from Edinburgh (EDI) to Shetland Islands (LSI). Airfares often soar above $300 each way, meaning redeeming just 6,500 Avios plus a reasonable amount of taxes/fees can easily provide more than 4 cents per Avios in value:

Our Take

Loganair may serve a niche region, but adding Avios makes its loyalty program far more appealing — especially to UK-based travelers and Avios collectors. Whether you're looking to stretch your points or take advantage of award space on pricey regional routes, the 6,500-point flat rate could offer excellent value. And with Avios flexibility across multiple programs, Logan Loyalty just became a lot more useful.
