Points and miles enthusiasts are likely familiar with Flying Blue Promo Rewards and Singapore Airlines Spontaneous Escapes. However, the Lufthansa Group also runs a similar set of monthly discounted awards called Miles & More Mileage Bargains. And that's what they are — bargains!

For those unaware, Miles & More is the loyalty program for Lufthansa as well as several other airlines in the Lufthansa Group. Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, LOT Polish, and SWISS all participate in Miles & More Mileage Bargains.

But these deals won’t be around for much longer. In February, Miles & More announced that it will eliminate its Mileage Bargains program once it switches to dynamic award pricing in June 2025. So, if you haven’t already, now’s the time to think about putting your miles to good use.

Here's how to score round-trip flights between the U.S. and Europe from just 30k Miles & More miles before this deal disappears.

What Is Miles & More Mileage Bargains?

Miles & More Mileage Bargains — also referred to as Lufthansa Mileage Bargains — offer discounted award flights on select routes, sometimes by over 50%. Miles & More offers discounts on economy, premium economy, and business class awards, depending on the route.

Discounts are specific to an origin and destination. Travelers can filter available routes based on origin, destination, cabin, airline, and more. Through Mileage Bargains, transatlantic travel generally costs just:

  • 30,000 miles round-trip in economy class.
  • 40,000 miles round-trip in premium economy.
  • 55,000 miles round-trip in business class.

See below for more details on this unique opportunity to score deeply discounted award travel to Europe.

Miles & More Mileage Bargains Examples

In May 2025, travelers can take advantage of a rather large number of Mileage Bargains itineraries. Exactly 224 results are currently available on flights departing from the United States. But unfortunately, none of these are in business class.

Here's a snapshot of some of the deals we're seeing this month.

Premium economy from Boston for 40,000 miles round-trip

You can stretch your miles by booking Austrian Airlines premium economy for 40,000 miles round-trip, such as between Boston (BOS) and Innsbruck (INN), Vienna (VIE), and four (paltry number, we know) additional destinations:

Economy from Atlanta, Newark, and more for 30,000 miles round-trip

If you don't have enough miles to splurge for premium economy, you can take advantage of 30,000-mile award rates to more than 200 destinations across Europe. Depending on where you originate, you can fly Lufthansa, SWISS, or Austrian Airlines.

Earning Miles & More Miles

Unfortunately, the Miles & More program does not partner with any transferable points currency, so earning opportunities are limited. However, Barclays issues the Miles & More® World Elite Mastercard® in the United States. This $89-annual-fee card comes with a 50,000-mile sign-up bonus if you spend $3,000 in purchases and pay the annual fee, both within the first 90 days.

You can also buy Miles & More miles (sometimes with a bonus or discount) to top off your account with Miles & More miles. Alternatively, you can sign up for ASmallWorld Prestige membership to get 250,000 Miles & More miles in one fell swoop.

And if you need to combine forces with a player 2, the Miles & More program supports mileage pooling for families.

Our Take

Miles & More Mileage Bargains offers deep discounts on flights across a variety of routes, airlines, and cabin classes. And this month’s offerings aren't the best we've ever seen, but there's still value to be found.

If you’ve got a stash of miles to burn before Miles & More officially switches to dynamic pricing and spot something that works for you, the travel window runs through the end of September 2025.

Be advised that these awards are non-changeable and non-refundable, so make sure your plans are set before you book. While mileage requirements can be more than 50% lower than usual, taxes and fees aren’t discounted and can add up quickly, even in economy.

The biggest limitation to taking advantage of Mileage Bargains is the lack of points transfer options with Miles & More. You'll need to earn miles through the Miles & More World Elite Mastercard, buy miles promotions, and flights you credit to your Miles & More account.
