Miles & More is the loyalty program for Lufthansa and several other airlines in the Lufthansa Group. Each month, the program offers what it calls Mileage Bargains, giving travelers the chance to book discounted round-trip award tickets, for about half the usual mileage.

However, the September 2025 edition of Mileage Bargains looks a little different than what you might be used to. In June 2025, Miles & More switched to dynamic pricing and announced it was eliminating the Mileage Bargains program altogether to simplify its award options. Surprisingly, the program was brought back after a short hiatus, but the deals since the relaunch have been underwhelming. And this month (like all the others since) is no exception.

That said, if you're wondering what deals are available through Mileage Bargains this month, here's what you need to know — along with tips on how to earn the miles to book them.

What Is Miles & More Mileage Bargains?

Miles & More Mileage Bargains — also referred to as Lufthansa Mileage Bargains — offer discounted award flights on select routes, sometimes by over 50%. Miles & More offers discounts on economy, premium economy, and business class awards, depending on the route.

These monthly discounts apply to specific origin and destination pairs. Travelers can filter available routes by origin, destination, cabin, airline, and other criteria.

And although dynamic pricing throws a wrench into things, you can currently book awards from North America to destinations in Europe starting at the following rates (plus taxes and fees):

  • 25,000 miles round-trip in economy class.
  • 42,000 miles round-trip in premium economy.
  • 61,000 miles round-trip in business class.

See below for more details on this unique opportunity to score deeply discounted award travel to Europe.

Miles & More Mileage Bargains Examples

If you remember the heyday of Miles & More Mileage Bargains, with hundreds of eligible routes in business, premium economy, and economy class, the September 2025 offerings might feel a bit disappointing — just like last month’s did. We figured the last couple of months was simply the program ramping back up, but this appears to be the new normal.

This month, there's only one promotion eligible route. It's Discover Airlines economy class from Las Vegas (LAS) to Frankfurt (FRA) for 25,000 miles round trip. Unless you live in Las Vegas and want to book this award, you may need a positioning flight to catch the departure.

Keep in mind that the prices do not include taxes and fees, which are often extremely high. So, rather than viewing this as a chance to score a cheap or free flight using miles, it’s better to think of it as a way to get a somewhat meaningful discount on the cash price of a ticket between the U.S. and Europe. Yes, I know this is like putting putting lipstick on a pig.

Earning Miles & More Miles

Unfortunately, the Miles & More program does not partner with any transferable points currency, so earning opportunities are limited. However, Barclays issues the Miles & More® World Elite Mastercard® in the United States. This $89-annual-fee card comes with a 50,000-mile sign-up bonus if you spend $3,000 in purchases and pay the annual fee, both within the first 90 days.

You can also buy Miles & More miles (sometimes with a bonus or discount) to top off your account with Miles & More miles. Alternatively, you can sign up for ASmallWorld Prestige membership to get 250,000 Miles & More miles in one fell swoop.

If you need to combine forces with a “player 2“, the Miles & More program supports mileage pooling for families.

Our Take

Miles & More Mileage Bargains offers deep discounts on flights across a variety of routes, airlines, and cabin classes. This month’s offerings are far from the best we have seen, but given that the program seemed destined for the chopping block in June, we're just surprised there's anything on offer at all.

If you have a stash of miles to burn and can make this month’s option work, keep in mind that the booking window closes on September 30, and travel must be completed between December 15 and January 31, 2026.

Most importantly, be aware that these awards are non-changeable and non-refundable, so you should be certain of your plans before booking. Although the mileage requirements can be significantly lower than standard rates, taxes and fees are not discounted and can add up quickly, even in economy.
