Choice is back with another promotion to buy Choice Privileges points — this time with up to a 30% discount. This targeted promotion is scheduled to run through 11:59 p.m. EST on March 15, 2026.

If you buy enough points to take advantage of the best discount, you can grab points for just 0.72¢ per point. This rate kicks in when you buy at least 10,000 points.

Considering AwardWallet users redeem Choice points for 1.26¢ per point, this promotion to buy Choice Privileges points can provide great value under the right circumstances. Let's take a look at when it can make sense to buy Choice Privileges points at this rate.

Offer Details: Buy Choice Points With a Discount

  • This promotion is valid on points purchases through 11:59 p.m. EST on March 15, 2026.
  • This promotion is targeted, and you may not see the up-to-30% discount in your account.
  • There is no stated maximum number of points you can purchase during this promotion or annually.
  • Points appear in your account within 24 hours after your transaction.
  • Purchased points do not count toward elite status or Lifetime Elite Gold status.
  • Transactions are non-refundable.
  • This promotion is potentially targeted, so it's important to check exactly what thresholds your tiers have.

As a Choice Privileges member, you can buy points at different levels and receive a better cost-per-point rate the more points you purchase. It's important to note that this promotion is targeted, as many Choice promotions are — so it's always important to check your account to see what sort of deal you're receiving before reaching for your wallet.

Within our team, some of us are targeted for the up-to-30% discount, which has the following tiers:

  • 1,000-3,000 points: No discount (1.28¢ each)
  • 4,000–9,000 points: 25% discount (0.86¢ each)
  • 10,000–180,000 points: 30% discount (0.72¢ each)

Others of us are seeing an up-to-25% discount, which instead has these tiers:

  • 1,000-3,000 points: No discount (1.28¢ each)
  • 4,000–9,000 points: 20% discount (0.91¢ each)
  • 10,000–180,000 points: 25% discount (0.77¢ each)

Should You Buy Choice Points?

At AwardWallet, we don't generally recommend buying points and miles speculatively. Most loyalty programs sell points at a price point that makes it difficult to receive outsized value. You're generally better off holding onto your cash.

However, there are exceptions to this rule. The first is when you only need a few more points to make a redemption, and you can't transfer points into the program. Buying points can make sense here since it's one of the fastest (and easiest) ways to top off your account balance.

When Does It Make Sense to Buy Choice Points?

In some of our previous posts about Choice Hotels, we've alluded to the fact that Choice points can be especially valuable for hotels overseas — specifically in areas with limited chain hotel options. This could also pair nicely with Choice Sweet Spot Rewards.

With that in mind, here are the two main situations where buying Choice points could be worthwhile:

  • When buying points is cheaper than paying cash. Compare the hotel’s nightly cash rate to the points rate. Multiply the number of points required by 0.72¢ each (the cheapest effective cost of points during a 30% discount promotion). If the result is lower than the cash price, you’ll save money by buying points and redeeming them.
  • When you need to top off your account for a specific redemption. Even if you’re only short a few thousand points, topping off your balance can be cheaper than paying cash for one or more nights. This is especially true at higher-end hotels or during peak dates when nightly cash rates are inflated.

Choice Privileges Buy Points History

We have compiled a list of former Choice Privileges promotions for buying points. As you can see, this purchase rate of 0.72¢ per point falls short of the best rate we've ever seen Choice offer. But it's still not a bad deal:

Maximize Your Purchase

Choice points purchases are processed by Points.com — not Choice directly. This means that buying Choice points likely won't trigger the travel category bonus on any credit card.

However, Choice credit cardholders should earn bonus points when using their card to buy Choice points — including 10x on the Choice Privileges® Select Mastercard®(Rates & Fees):

Bottom Line

The Choice Privileges program tends to rotate between two types of buy-point promotions: one offering bonus points and one offering a discount. This current offer with a 30% discount isn't the best we've seen from Choice as far as the cost goes, but it can still provide excellent value under the right circumstances.

If you're looking to book one of Choice's sweet spots this year, buying Choice points at 0.72¢ each can certainly make sense. Just note that this targeted offer ends on March 15, 2026.

Are you going to buy Choice Privileges points at 0.72¢ each?
