Chase is offering 10,000 bonus points when cardholders reach a moderate spending limit with select IHG cards by June 30, 2024. That's enough points for two free nights at some hotels, and most cardholders could hit the spending requirement in three months. However, not everyone is eligible for the promotion. Here are the details of this targeted offer.

10,000 Bonus Points With IHG Cards (Targeted)

A new offer has popped up for targeted IHG One Rewards cardholders to earn 10,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in qualifying purchases between April 1 and June 30, 2024. In other words, you have three full months to hit the $5,000 spending requirement, which shouldn't be impossible for most cardholders. Eligible purchases made before registering are valid, as long as you register before June 30.

Key terms

  • Register for this promotion by June 30, 2024.
  • Spend $5,000 in qualifying purchases between April 1 and June 30, 2024.
  • Receive 10,000 bonus points.
  • Eligible purchases exclude balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.
  • Members will receive the bonus points within eight weeks of reaching the spending threshold.
  • Purchases must post to your account by June 30; delayed transactions that don't finalize until after the deadline won't count.

Our Take

It's never clear who or why Chase and IHG One Rewards target with these offers. If you don't see this promotion in your offers, you should still try to register for the promotion if you like using your IHG One Rewards cards for spending. Even if you don't think you'll hit the $5,000 minimum spending threshold, it's still worth registering in case you end up meeting it by June 30, 2024.

AwardWallet users tend to redeem IHG One Rewards points at 0.68¢ each, making 10,000 bonus points worth about $68. That might not be worth going out of your way to reach the $5,000 minimum spending threshold, but it's a great bonus if you're going to spend that much on your card anyway.
