- Isolate your search to hotels that are equal to or less than the value of your certificate.

Our Top Picks for Redeeming Marriott 35,000 Free Night Certificates
The most common Marriott Free Night Award certificates are worth 35,000 points. These certificates can now be redeemed for nights costing up to 60,000 points, now that you can top off the certificates with up to 25,000 points.
These same properties are also in play for cardholders of the previous Marriott Bonvoy Premier Credit Card, who get an anniversary certificate worth 25,000 points.
Note that Marriott introduced fully dynamic pricing on award stays in 2023, so you may not always find availability for using your award nights at these properties.
Hotel Republic San Diego
Located in the trendy Gaslamp Quarter, Hotel Republic San Diego is part of Marriott's boutique-style Autograph Collection. With two restaurants, a gym, and a prime location, it's one of our top picks for free night awards up to 35,000 points.

We found nights priced between 35,000 and 59,000 points throughout 2026, making this redeemable with 25,000 or 35,000 free night award certificates — plus topping off with points as needed.
The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg, Germany
One of the top hotels for using the 35,000-point certificate from the Marriott Boundless or Marriott Bonvoy Business Card is The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg. Just 90 minutes west of Berlin by train, this five-star hotel is located within Volkswagen's Autostadt theme park and is surrounded by automotive and architectural design. Some of its unique offerings include the Aqua restaurant, which boasts three Michelin stars, and a floating swimming pool.

Given the cash rates at Marriott’s top properties, cardholders should have no trouble getting enough value from a free night award to justify the annual fee.
We found nightly rates here in the 400–500 euros range, meaning a 35,000-point certificate can deliver more than 1.3 cents per point in value.
The Henry, Autograph Collection, Dearborn, Michigan
What does a Ritz-Carlton do when it retires? It reinvents itself as The Henry, part of Marriott’s luxury Autograph Collection. Located in Dearborn, Michigan, this award-winning hotel offers a level of contemporary luxury that can be hard to find in the area.

If you’re chasing a mix of luxury and elegance, plus a sleek indoor pool, The Henry sits near the top of the list for Marriott free night awards valued at 27,000 to 39,000 points.

Delta Hotels St. Pierre Country Club, Chepstow, Wales (U.K.)
Across the Atlantic in Chepstow, Wales, the St. Pierre is situated amongst 400 acres of parklands. Housed in a 14th-century manor home, it offers a phenomenal indoor heated pool, a full-service spa, two championship golf courses, and a top selection of cocktail and dining venues.
We found rates for this property ranging from 25,000 to 45,000 points per night year-round.

Moxy Banff, Alberta, Canada
In the heart of the adorable village of Banff, Alberta, is a fun and cozy hotel, perfect for a ski trip or a summer getaway to the mountains. The Moxy Banff has a lobby you'll actually want to hang out in, with games, a full-service bar, and even a food truck.
Hang out by the fire with a welcome drink or slip into the outdoor hot tub and heated pool. This trendy spot has become a family favorite in our house. In a town that is known for its hotel sticker shock, snagging this cool property on free night certificates is a no-brainer.

We found availability for as low as 35,000 points, although rates tend to be higher in the summer during peak season.
Williamsburg Lodge, Autograph Collection, Virginia
If you're planning a trip to Colonial Williamsburg or Busch Gardens this year, the Williamsburg Lodge, part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, is located in the historic district. It features a pool and a spa and boutique rooms with 18th-century-style decor, letting you fully immerse yourself in the historical atmosphere.

With redemptions from 31,000 points, that 35,000 certificate will get you a one-of-a-kind stay!

Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, Kissimmee, Florida
Boasting a waterpark, pool, spa, and proximity to both Disney World and Universal Studios, the Gaylord Palms is an entertainment destination, perfect for many families. With redemptions available from 30,000 (off-peak) to 57,000 (peak) points, a free night certificate can be a great value during summer and spring break travel.

Mt. Juliet Estate, Kilkenny, Ireland
Part of the Autograph Collection, Marriott describes the Mount Juliet Estate as “A historic estate with award-winning dining, a championship golf course and country pursuits.” With a Michelin-starred restaurant and activities such as golf, archery, and an equestrian center, there is no shortage of things to do at this beautiful Irish country estate.

The estate is kid-friendly, with family rooms available to book with points/certificates. There is a playground, bikes for rent, a pool, and children's menus.
We found rates from 37,000 to 54,000 per night.

Ghent Marriott, Belgium
Anyone who’s tried booking a hotel for a family in Europe knows how tough it can be to find rooms for four. So you can imagine how excited we were to find The Ghent Marriott, with family rooms bookable with points!
It’s an ideal city-center stay, set right on the canal and within walking distance of the main attractions in this charming Belgian town.

Additionally, the restaurant, Midtown Grill, has a fabulous breakfast spread. With rates from 37,000–54,000 points, this sweet spot is bookable with a 35,000-point certificate (plus top-off) for many dates throughout the year.

Hotel Drover, Fort Worth
Deep in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards, a national historical district, lies a unique boutique hotel that is a part of Marriott's Autograph Collection: The Hotel Drover. This “rustic-luxe” property includes an outdoor space featuring a heated pool, hot tub, and outdoor games. A room at this one-of-a-kind hotel can run from $350 to over $1,000, and we found nights starting at 40,000 points!
Using a 35,000 or even a 50,000 certificate here will give you excellent value.

Le Meridien Maldives Resort & Spa
Could any points redemption list be complete without mentioning the aspirational Maldives?
While it's not exactly a destination for a weekend getaway, using a free night award here could make sense if you want an extended stay at the Le Meridien Maldives. You could utilize Marriott's fifth night free on points bookings, then add additional nights with free night certificates. It’s a great way to avoid the sky-high cash rates at one of Marriott’s top properties.
Award rates start at 52,000 points, depending on the month, with the highest rates during the winter peak season.

Our Top Picks for Redeeming a Marriott 85,000 Free Night Certificate
Planet Hollywood, Guanacaste, Costa Rica
An all-inclusive resort you can book with a free night certificate? Planet Hollywood Costa Rica proves it is possible. Set on the gorgeous Papagayo Peninsula, the resort offers sweeping ocean views, multiple pools, and a wide range of dining options spread across the property.
With plenty of on-site activities, it’s a strong choice for travelers who want a fun, all-inclusive base for exploring Costa Rica.

All-inclusive rooms in this tropical paradise start at 58,000 points, with rates climbing into the mid-90,000 range.
Wailea Beach Resort, Maui
One of my favorite stays of all time was at the Wailea Beach Resort in Maui. The beautiful property features multiple oceanfront pools, waterslides, several restaurants, and sweeping views of the Pacific. A recent renovation refreshed many of the rooms and public spaces. Cash rates can range from around $700 to well over $1,200 per night.

While peak dates can push rates well above 100,000 points, you can still find nights pricing at 85,000.

The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, a Luxury Collection Hotel
Japan seems to be on everyone’s travel bucket list right now. The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, a Luxury Collection Hotel, offers a memorable place to experience the magic of Tokyo. This sleek, modern hotel features a dramatic sky lounge, sweeping city views from its rooms and suites, and amenities like an indoor pool and spa. It's also in a prime location in Tokyo’s central Kioicho district.

We found nightly rates to be consistently around 85,000 points, even during peak dates.
Tokyo is an expensive city. That makes this an especially appealing place to redeem an 85,000 Marriott free night certificate.
NOŪS Santorini, A Member of Design Hotels, Greece
For travelers dreaming of a Greek island escape, NOŪS Santorini offers a stylish place to unwind on Santorini. This modern resort focuses on relaxation, with beautiful pools, a serene spa, and wellness touches like yoga classes. This tranquil spot makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Rooms can be booked for as low as 72,000 points on off-peak dates.
General Tips for Maximizing Marriott Free Night Awards
- Stack them with friends and family: Free night certificates shine when you can stack a couple for a weekend getaway. If you have multiple cards — or have a friend or family member with their own certificate — you can book them back-to-back for a longer stay.
- Top off your certificate with points: Marriott also lets you top off a certificate — now with up to 25,000 points. This provides ample opportunity to use your free night, even if the hotel costs more than the free night certificate is worth on its own. For example, by topping off the 85,000-point free night certificate from the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Card, you could book a stay at a top-tier Marriott property pricing around 110,000 points per night.
How Marriott Free Nights Stack Up Against Other Cards
Several hotel credit cards offer annual free night certificates:
- IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card: Reward Night worth up to 40,000 points after each account anniversary ($99 annual fee). For more details, here's how IHG free night certificates work.
- The World of Hyatt Credit Card: Free night certificate every year after your cardmember anniversary, valid at any Category 1–4 hotel or resort ($95 annual fee). Here are some of the best spots for World of Hyatt free nights.
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card: Free night certificate issued after each account anniversary, though the card has a $550 annual fee (Rates & Fees). For some inspiration, here are the best luxury properties for Hilton award stays. The Hilton free night reward can be redeemed at almost any property, any day of the week.
With any of these hotel cards, most folks will have no trouble recouping the value of their credit card's annual fee.

Final Thoughts
There's an argument for only redeeming free night certificates when the comparable cash price of the stay is high. But the reality is different. If you find a property that sits at or under the redemption value of your certificate, works for your travel plans, and slashes your out-of-pocket expenses, then it's a good redemption.
If you’re willing to put in some legwork, the free night certificate offered from some Marriott co-branded cards can return a ton of value. That makes them an excellent long-term addition to your rewards portfolio.
