Capital One cardholders have two new ways to redeem rewards miles for merchandise and Apple products. Plus, cardholders get up to 40% off through November 15, 2023 to celebrate these new features. These new portals are separate from Capital One Shopping, just to be clear. Here are the details.

Redeem Capital One Rewards for Merchandise and Apple Products

If you hold a Capital One card, you now have two more ways to redeem miles: an Apple shopping portal and a brand-name merchandise shopping portal. Through November 15, 2023, eligible Capital One cardholders can get up to 40% off when shopping in these portals.

The portals themselves offer 10% or 25% discounts, respectively, outside of this promotion. Cardholders will get a further 20% discount, up to a maximum of 40% off. The shipping cost is included in the price for each item.

For example, these Airpods typically cost 22,730 miles but are on sale for 16,181 miles — a discount of 28.8%.

The Capital One Apple store gives cardholders up to 10% off Apple products, but the current sale shows you can redeem your miles for 1.1 cents apiece on these 3rd Generation Airpods.

The merchandise portal has various products from key brands like Kate Spade, Tumi, Dyson, Bose, Samsung, and Samsonite available for up to 25% off. For example, the Tumi Alpha 3 Medium Travel Tote is usually 56,792 miles or $454. Until November 15, cardholders can get the tote for 33,949 miles or $348. That's 40% fewer miles than the base price or 23% off if paying cash. If redeeming miles, they're worth 1.34 cents apiece on this redemption.

To redeem your Capital One miles for these products, you can either use the links above or go to “Redeem” in the Rewards tab of your Capital One app, and then select “Redeem for Merchandise” or “Redeem for Apple Products.”

Eligible cards

Numerous Capital One credit cards are eligible for this promotion, including cards from the Venture, Quicksilver, Savor, and Spark families. Student and secured cards also are eligible.

Our Take

Capital One continues to roll out more benefits for cardholders. Recently, Capital One launched its first Capital One Travel portal sale, and there's an ongoing promotion for Capital One Dining. Plus, now you can redeem rewards miles for merchandise and Apple products.

It's great to see new ways to redeem Capital One miles. And the cash discounts with this sale might be worth considering. However, these portals won't provide good value for many cardholders as AwardWallet readers typically redeem their Capital One miles at 2¢ apiece. Even with the limited-time promotion, your miles will be worth 1.3 cents each, at best, so this isn't the greatest value. However, if you're sitting on a mountain of miles and want to save cash, this could be a good use in that situation.

What do you think about this Capital One promotion? Do you like the additional benefits for Capital One cardholders to redeem miles on merchandise?
