Wells Fargo Reflect Welcome Offer

The Wells Fargo Reflect‘s welcome bonus is a 0% intro APR for 21 months from account opening on purchases and qualifying balance transfers. 17.24%, 23.74%, or 28.99% variable APR thereafter; balance transfers made within 120 days qualify for the intro rate, BT fee of 5%, min: $5.

How a 0% intro APR can benefit you

If you're wondering how a 0% intro APR can benefit you, let's look at an example. Say you need home repairs that will cost $5,000, but you're unable to pay that amount in full. If you were to put this on a card with a high APR, you could end up paying a significant amount in interest charges if you don’t pay your statement on time and in full.

In addition, that interest quickly wipes out the value of any rewards you might have earned, and it can also ding your credit score.

With the Wells Fargo Reflect, you can pay for that home repair over 21 months from account opening from account opening without any interest charges, as long as you make the minimum payment each month and pay off the full amount by the end of the intro period. That kind of flexibility can be invaluable when you need extra time to pay something off.

Wells Fargo Reflect Benefits

The Wells Fargo Reflect doesn’t offer a long list of perks, but the benefits it does have are pretty practical.

$0 annual fee

The Wells Fargo Reflect has a $0 annual fee. You can keep it in your wallet every year without paying for that privilege.

My Wells Fargo Deals

One of the lesser-known benefits of this card is access to My Wells Fargo Deals, which provides personalized offers from select retailers. After activating an offer and making a qualifying purchase, you'll earn cash back as a statement credit. The credit will post to your eligible card account within 60 days of the eligible transaction.

Cell phone protection

If you use this card to pay your monthly cell phone bill, you’ll receive built-in protection against theft or damage.

Coverage includes up to $600 per claim, with a $25 deductible. You’re allowed up to two claims in a 12-month period, with a total benefit cap of $1,200 per period. To be eligible, your bill must be charged to the Wells Fargo Reflect. Claims must be filed within 60 days of the incident through the insurer’s website.

Secondary auto rental insurance

The Wells Fargo Reflect provides secondary auto rental insurance, which can come in handy if your primary policy doesn’t fully cover the cost of damages. Coverage lasts for up to 15 consecutive days within the U.S. and includes protection against accidents, theft, vandalism, and natural disasters. You'll need to use this card to cover the cost of your rental to receive coverage.

Roadside dispatch

If your vehicle breaks down, the Wells Fargo Reflect gives you access to a 24/7 dispatch service that can arrange roadside help, including towing or a locksmith.

This isn’t a free benefit — you’ll pay for any services rendered — but it can be convenient if you don’t already have coverage through AAA or another roadside assistance program.

Earning and Redeeming With the Wells Fargo Reflect

The Wells Fargo Reflect doesn’t earn points or cash back. Its primary value lies in the ability to make purchases or transfer balances and pay them off over time without interest during the introductory period.

If earning rewards is a priority, this card won’t be the right fit for you. It’s designed for saving on interest, not for collecting points or maximizing redemptions.

Application Restrictions and Strategy

Wells Fargo's terms and conditions have the following disclaimer:

“You may not qualify for an additional Wells Fargo Credit Card if you have opened a Wells Fargo Credit Card in the last 6 months.”

Beyond this, Wells Fargo is known to deny welcome bonuses to customers who have earned a bonus on another Wells Fargo card within the last 15 months. While that's not specifically stated in this card's terms, the restriction likely still applies to this introductory APR offer.

Bottom Line

The Wells Fargo Reflect is a decent option for consumers needing some spending flexibility or who want to consolidate existing credit card debt to an interest-free option.

However, this card shouldn't be used to rack up credit card debt simply because it doesn't accrue interest for 21 months from account opening. As long as you use the card strategically for its 0% intro APR benefit, it can be a great way to save on annoying interest charges. But just keep in mind that if you want rewards for your spending, you'll have to look elsewhere.
