The American Express Platinum Card® reigns supreme when it comes to lounge access — from Centurion Lounges to Priority Pass and beyond. But did you know some cardmembers can also access Eurostar Premier Lounges in London, Paris, and Brussels with their Platinum Card®?
Before you get too excited, there’s a key limitation: This perk is officially limited to UK-issued Platinum Card® cards.
Here’s what to know — including who might still get in and what to expect inside these lounges.

Which Amex Platinum Cardmembers Get Eurostar Lounge Access?
Unfortunately, not all Platinum Card products are created equal when it comes to Eurostar lounge access. The biggest limitation is that only UK-issued Platinum Cards are guaranteed access.
U.S.-issued Platinum cards do not officially come with this benefit. France-issued cards don't seem to be eligible for this benefit either, so it appears to be a UK-exclusive perk.
That said, a few scattered data points suggest that Platinum Card® cards from other Eurostar-served countries might be accepted — and that some U.S. cardholders have gotten in anyway. In practice, it seems to come down to the agent on duty.
Also, only those with the personal version get this benefit, whereas The Business Platinum Card® from American Express does not grant access.

Eurostar Lounge Locations and Guest Rules
Here are the Eurostar lounges available to qualifying Platinum Card® cardmembers:
- London St. Pancras International (also includes Ebbsfleet International)
- Paris Gare du Nord
- Brussels Midi/Zuid
Eligible cardholders don't get guest access. However, additional card members can use their card for entry.
What to Expect From Eurostar Lounges
While Eurostar lounges aren't in the same league as Centurion Lounges, they do offer a quiet space and some light refreshments.
The lounge in Paris Gare du Nord is a commendable spot to hang out, especially since the station itself lacks decent amenities. The Brussels lounge is quite small, but it still offers a quiet spot to unwind after clearing security and passport control. The London St. Pancras lounge is by far the best of the three since it's spacious, more comfortable, and offers better food and drink than the others.
Final Thoughts
If you're based in the U.K. and have a personal Platinum Card®, Eurostar lounge access is a nice bonus — especially when London’s departure area is packed.
U.S. cardholders should remember that this perk likely won’t apply, even if your card gets you into airport lounges worldwide. Still, it might be worth a friendly attempt at the door. Just don’t plan your Eurostar journey around lounge access unless you hold the right card.

Figured I’d get to Gare du Nord early for my 1:30 train to Paris and use the lounge. I arrived at 10:45. The French woman at checkin got to use what seem to be the favorite words of all customer service people in France: “It is not possible.” Maximum of two hours before departure…
I tried to iré using my Amex platinum business and I got refused. They said is only for American Express platinum only users . Business users not taken
How do they know US vs euro card?
Do they verify Eurostar BP? What if I am taking SNCF? How about using it as an arrival lounge?
I called Amex in the end and the travel team confirmed this, personal platinum only. I was advised that if I need this benefit I should reapply for the personal card and cancel my business platinum charge for a pro-rata refund. Seems crazy to me that the business card would be the card refused since I travel mostly for business (as I imagine most people do), but there you go.
The report from Geldie speaks worry.
Not true for Corporate Platnium Charge UK atleast. I was refused access and told personal cards only. And there was me picking the business over the personal because “it has slightly better rewards, insurance and accesses”. Also found in the first month that the boingo access is gone too, though still being advertised on the website when I registered.
Howie, the best part of it is getting away from the crowds in the rest of the terminal. I have a few Eurostar sectors a year and only have Amex Gold at the moment. This might just tip the balance in favour of upgrading.
It is disappointing that access does not include guests, but the one time that I was in Gare du Nord, I was by myself. (If you don’t count the two guys who kept following me around trying to scam me by asking me to give them change for a large bill. Though access to the lounge would have let me get away from them also.)
@Jacqueline says: “Thanks for posting this information, got a booking so will use my Platinum.”
Nothing like having an existing itinerary, reading the blog and seeing that you can effortless claim a nice perk when you head out! 🙂
That’s a nice benefit! Good to know.
As others have mentioned, this benefit is most valuable for single travellers.
What do you like most about the Eurostar lounge access?
Good perk, thanks for the info
Have you had a chance to experience lounges as a benefit of the Amex Platinum and its sister cards? Which one(s) are your favorite?
good to hear about both the options and the bad reviews on twitter
This is a good perk. Thanks.
Platinum card is getting better and better I think the plat card and chase are running neck and neck
It is a shame there is no guests allowed, but from what is mentioned above the lounges sound quite small.
Good to know! Too bad guests are limited to card holder only.
Another good reason to get the AMEX platinum card 🙂
Nice extra benefit!
I did not know either. Thanks!
this is a nice perk to have for the platinum card holders.
I assume they’re nicer than the Amtrak lounges.
It is too bad there is no guesting policy like Priority Pass. It lessens the value of the benefit.
This seems unfair to holders in America
thanks for the info
lol this is a nice perk.
Great post!
Should have added:although we’ve always had a good experience, if you follow Eurostar on twitter, the entire feed is their passengers complaining about service interruptions, lost seat assignments, and broken bits in the carriages… it would be funny if it weren’t true!
nice perk!
Thanks for posting this information, got a booking so will use my Platinum.
This is worth knowing. Eurostar terminals are basically cattle yards and lounge access makes a big difference. Another factor to consider in my toss-up whether to upgrade my German Amex Gold to Platinum.
Because of the limited space, during peak time you are allowed to enter in the area (scan the ticket bar code) only a limited time before the train departure.
If you enter in the lounge for just 30 minutes the benefits are limited in a certain way.
I will try that in a couple of months.
By the way, it is Gare du Nord, not Gard du Nord!
Good spot, fixed thanks!
Well that’s interesting. Never heard this before. Been to the Paris station a couple times before and never even knew there was a lounge there. Never looked.
Appreciate this.
That’s useful to know. Thanks
A good add on for European travelers.
Neither did I!
I’ve only ever gone Business Premier on Eurostar, so always enjoyed lounge access… still, nice to know that on the off-occasion a lesser fare might be purchased, there’s still a way to have lounge access. It would be nice if Priority Pass would enter this arena as well.
Are there coming more and more perks to Amex?
Thats really cool!
This is a nice surprise perk!
I love this perk!
great info
Nice benefit.
What a bonus!
Thanks, I didn’t know about this perk with Platinum.
