Capital One Venture X: Earn 100,000 Bonus Miles!

The Capital One Venture X currently comes with the following elevated welcome offer: 100,000 Miles when you spend $10,000 on purchases in the first 6 months from account opening.

We love six-figure offers, but they’ve been rare on the Capital One Venture X. In fact, the last time we saw one was during the first few months after the card launched in 2021, and it hasn’t returned since. So, now’s the time to take advantage of this offer, because there’s no telling when it will come around again.

What are Capital One miles worth?

Part of what makes this elevated Capital One Venture X offer truly special is the value of Capital One miles. On average, AwardWallet users redeem Capital One miles for 2.04¢ each, making the 100,000-mile bonus worth over $2,000 toward award travel.

To unlock this kind of value, you’ll need to strategically transfer your miles to Capital One’s 22 airline and hotel partners and book award travel. Some partners offer better value than others. AwardWallet users have found the greatest value through Air Canada Aeroplan, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

You can also redeem Capital One miles at a flat rate of 1¢ each toward travel purchases made in the last 90 days. While that rate isn’t as compelling as what you can get from transfer partners, it still guarantees that your 100,000 welcome offer is worth at least $1,000 toward paid travel.

Capital One Venture X Application Rules and Restrictions

If you're interested in applying for the Capital One Venture X, there are two sets of rules and restrictions to keep in mind.

The first relates to how often you can apply for a Capital One credit card. Capital One will only accept one card application every six months. And this limit applies to both business and consumer cards issued by the bank. If you've applied for another Capital One card more recently, you'll need to wait before submitting your application.

The second relates to eligibility for the welcome bonus. On the card's application page, you'll find this statement:

“Existing or previous cardmembers are not eligible for this product if they have received a new cardmember bonus for this product in the past 48 months.”

Finally, unlike most card issuers, Capital One pulls your credit report from all three credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion). Be sure to review your credit file with each bureau to ensure there are no surprises that could lessen your approval odds.
