Nearly all premium credit cards come with statement credits to help offset the equally premium annual fees. Chase is no exception to this rule.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® (Rates & Fees) offers several statement credits to help offset the card's steep $795 annual fee. Benefits range from the $300 annual travel credit to The Edit perks and the newer $250 Chase Travel hotel credit, which lets cardholders save on eligible hotel bookings.

How To Use the Chase Travel Hotel Credit

To get started, head to chasetravel.com or log in to your Ultimate Rewards account. Access to the Chase Travel portal is limited to cardholders with an eligible Chase Ultimate Rewards-earning card. Once logged in, click “Travel” in the main menu, then select “Book travel” from the sub-menu.

Next, choose the type of travel you want to book. Chase Travel lets cardholders book flights, rental cars, hotel stays, cruises, tours, and activities. In this case, select “Stays.”

Searching for a hotel works much like it does on any other booking platform. Just enter your destination and travel dates to see the available options. If an eligible property is available for your selected stay, you'll see a label reading “Eligible for $250 select hotel credit.”

Select your preferred room type, add the stay to your cart, and follow the booking prompts. At checkout, select “Pay now” under the hotel payment options, then choose “Pay with card” before clicking “Start checkout.” Fill out the required reservation information and voila — you’ve booked your first Chase Travel hotel credit-eligible stay.

Statement credits will generally process within three business days but may take up to four weeks to reflect in your account.

How To Double Dip on Benefits

One of the best parts of the new Chase Travel hotel credit isn’t just the ability to save up to $250 on hotel stays. Eligible bookings can still earn Ultimate Rewards points on any amount paid out of pocket beyond the credit.

But that's not all. Many participating hotels belong to major loyalty programs, meaning you can also earn hotel points and elite credit on the full cost of the stay — including the portion offset by the $250 credit.

That means you can save money on your hotel stay while still earning hotel loyalty points and elite night credits — all while enjoying existing elite status benefits during your stay.

Bottom Line

Some of the benefits I enjoy most are the ones that help offset the annual fee on my premium travel credit card without needing to go out of my way. Perks like hotel statement credits on stays I’d likely book anyway definitely have a special place in my heart.

If you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve® and are planning to travel in 2026, it's worth checking if you can leverage this new Sapphire hotel credit on your next adventure to help stretch your travel budget.
