If you already have a Chase card that lets you transfer Ultimate Rewards points to travel partners, two current business card offers deserve a closer look. Chase markets the bonuses as $1,000 cash back. But for eligible Chase Sapphire and Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card cardholders, each bonus can easily become 100,000 transferable Ultimate Rewards points.

New applicants for the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card (Rates & Fees) and Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card (Rates & Fees) can earn $1,000 after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first 4 months from account opening.

Both cards charge $0 annual fee, and Chase now labels both offers as “offer ending soon.” So, now's a great time to consider getting them.

Here's the easy way you can turn that $1,000 bonus into 100,000 transferable Ultimate Rewards points.

The $1,000 Bonus Can Become 100,000 Transferable Points

On its own, either bonus is worth a straightforward $1,000. Each point earned by the Ink Cash or Ink Unlimited can be redeemed for 1 cent as cash back, so 100,000 points equals $1,000.

However, Chase lets you combine Ultimate Rewards points among eligible cards you own. Simply combine the 100,000 points from your new Ink Cash or Ink Unlimited account to one of the following cards, and those points instantly gain access to Chase’s 14 airline and hotel transfer partners:

When redeemed through Chase transfer partners, AwardWallet users have recently averaged 2.07¢ per Ultimate Rewards point. That doesn't guarantee you will get more than $2,000 from this bonus. Still, it shows why travelers with a transfer-enabled Chase card should view this as a 100,000-point offer rather than merely $1,000 cash back.

Cash back remains available. If you cannot find a worthwhile award, you can still redeem the points for $1,000.

The process is straightforward:

Which Ink Card Best Complements Your Existing Chase Card?

The Ink sign-up bonuses are identical, so your spending should drive the decision. Both cards can work as long-term companions to a Sapphire or Ink Preferred card because neither charges an annual fee.

Choose the Ink Cash for up to 5X in useful categories

The Ink Cash earns:

  • Earn 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year. Earn 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases on dining and gas each account anniversary year. Earn 1% cash back on all other card purchases with no limit to the amount you can earn.

After you combine the rewards with a transfer-enabled card, that 5% cash back effectively becomes 5X transferable Ultimate Rewards points. This makes the Ink Cash particularly rewarding for office supply and phone service spending.

Choose the Ink Unlimited for 1.5X on everyday spending

The Ink Unlimited earns unlimited 1.5% cash back on eligible purchases. Once you combine the rewards with your qualifying Sapphire or Ink Preferred account, that effectively becomes 1.5X transferable points.

This earning rate makes the Ink Unlimited the simpler choice for small business owners with everyday non-bonused expenses.

Both cards charge a foreign transaction fee of 3% of each transaction in U.S. dollars. So, make sure to use your existing Chase card for purchases outside the U.S.

Check Your Eligibility and Spending Plan Before Applying

A 100,000-point bonus is compelling, but only if the card and spending requirement fit your situation.

First, these are U.S.-issued small-business credit cards. A qualifying business can include a sole proprietorship, freelance work, or a side hustle. Be accurate about your business details and revenue.

Second, the $8,000 spending requirement works out to an average of $2,000 per month for four months. Apply only if you can meet that target through normal expenses without carrying debt or buying things you would not otherwise purchase.

Chase’s 5/24 rule also generally applies. Although opening a Chase business card typically does not add to your 5/24 count, applicants usually need to be below 5/24 to receive approval. Here's how to check your 5/24 status for free.

Finally, read the bonus eligibility language carefully. Chase warns that the bonus may not be available if you have ever had the same card or another Chase for Business card without an annual fee. Chase also says it may consider other factors related to your business when determining bonus eligibility.

Holding an Ink Preferred or a consumer Sapphire card does not, by itself, restrict you from getting one of these cards. However, if you already have or previously held an Ink Cash, Ink Unlimited, or another no-annual-fee Chase business card, you may get a pop-up notification saying that you aren't eligible for a bonus.

Bottom Line

For existing Chase Sapphire and Ink Preferred cardholders, these offers are more valuable than their cash-back labels suggest. You already have the card needed to unlock Chase’s transfer partners, while either no-annual-fee Ink card can improve your long-term earning strategy.

The Ink Cash is the better companion if you can take advantage of its 5% categories. The Ink Unlimited is the easier fit for otherwise unbonused business spending. Either can be an excellent choice in the right situation — but not if $8,000 in four months would force you to overspend, carry a balance, or strain your cash flow.

Chase says these offers are ending soon but has not provided a date. If you are eligible and can comfortably meet the spending requirement, this is a strong opportunity to add 100,000 transferable points to a Chase Ultimate Rewards strategy you already use.
