Are you a frequent Airbnb guest? If so, you know Airbnb doesn't offer a loyalty program. That means you'll need to find a workaround to earn points and miles on Airbnb stays beyond the points you earn from using a credit card to book. This is about to get a lot easier thanks to a new partnership between TAP Air Portugal and Airbnb.
You can now earn TAP Miles&Go miles on all your Airbnb stays. Here's how much you'll earn, how to take advantage of this new partnership, and other ways to earn TAP miles.
Earning TAP Miles&Go Miles on Airbnb Stays
When you book an Airbnb through TAP Air Portugal, you will now earn 2 Miles&Go miles per €1 (~$1.15) spent. It doesn't matter in which currency you make your booking — the conversion will always be made in euros. There's no minimum spending required, and no maximum number of miles you can earn through this partnership.
You'll earn miles on the initial booking minus any taxes, fees, discounts, and non-eligible charges. This could potentially be one of the more lucrative Airbnb airline partnerships we've seen. However, for now, you'll only earn miles on stays. You won't earn any miles on Airbnb experiences or services.
To start earning miles on your Airbnb stays, you'll need to book through TAP Air Portugal rather than going straight to Airbnb. Here's the process:
- Visit the TAP Air Portugal Airbnb partnership page.
- Log in to your TAP Miles&Go account.
- Click the “Book now” link to be redirected to Airbnb.
- Log in to your Airbnb account if you haven't already.
- Search for your vacation rental and book it as you normally would.
Your miles will be credited to your account up to 60 days after checkout. Note that you have to complete your booking within 10 days of clicking through the partnership page. After that window expires, you'll have to return to the page to renew your eligibility for another 10 days.

Key terms
- Earn 2 miles per €1 spent on the initial booking value, excluding taxes, fees, discounts, and other non-eligible charges.
- The TAP Miles&Go Customer Number (TP) must belong to the person making the booking.
- Your TAP Miles&Go miles will be credited no sooner than 60 days after you complete your stay.
- If you cancel your reservation, you will not be eligible to earn miles. If you modify your booking, the number of miles earned may change.
- You must have cookies enabled in your browser to earn miles.

Other Ways To Earn Points and Miles on Airbnb Stays
Airbnb has a growing list of airline partners to help you make stays more rewarding. If you don't want to earn TAP Air Portugal miles on your booking, link one of these airline partners instead:
- British Airways: Earn 2 Avios per £1/$1/€1 spent on stays and experiences.
- Delta Air Lines: Earn 1 SkyMile per $1 spent on stays and 3 SkyMiles per $1 spent on experiences and services.
- Qantas: Earn 1 Qantas Point per A$1 (~$0.71 USD) spent on stays.
- ANA: Earn 1 mile for every JPY 200 (~$1.27 USD) spent on accommodation.
I always go through Delta when I book an Airbnb, but I might switch to British Airways. Just make sure to get to Airbnb via whichever partner you choose. If you forget, you'll forfeit the opportunity to earn miles on your booking.

Other Ways To Earn TAP Miles
There are plenty of ways to earn TAP Miles&Go miles without stepping foot on a plane. You can buy TAP Miles&Go miles, sometimes with a discount, or you can leverage credit cards.
TAP Air Portugal credit card
Although TAP Air Portugal isn't a U.S. airline, it offers a co-branded credit card for U.S. residents. The TAP Miles&Go American Express® Credit Card comes with a handful of benefits in exchange for a $79 annual fee.
You'll receive two passes to the TAP Premium Lounge at Lisbon Airport each year, an extra checked bag on TAP flights twice per year, and premium boarding. If you're working toward status, you'll earn 1 Status Mile for every 5 miles earned on your card, up to 10,000 Status Miles per annual qualification period.
The card also has a decent earning potential:
- 3x miles on Tap Portugal Airlines purchases
- 2x on car rentals, hotels, and rideshare
- 1x on other purchases
Overall, it's an interesting option for anyone who regularly flies with the airline.

Transfer credit card or hotel points to TAP
If you don't fly TAP frequently enough to justify a new credit card, booking a bunch of Airbnb stays isn't the only way to earn miles. You can transfer points and miles from the following bank and hotel programs:

Our Take
I love any opportunity to earn bonus rewards on purchases I was already planning on making. I frequently stay at Airbnbs, so the opportunity to earn extra miles on my booking is great. I'll still credit my Airbnb stays to Delta for now, but if you're a loyal TAP Air Portugal flyer, this is a great new partnership to take advantage of.
