American Express has been slowly teasing a deepened partnership with ALL Accor over the past few months. Back in May, Amex UK added Accor as a transfer partner. More often than not, other countries follow suit shortly thereafter.
As it turns out, this assumption was correct. On July 22, American Express and Accor announced a new global partnership, featuring elite status matches and points transfers for cardholders in one of 12 countries.
However, the rollout is fairly disjointed — some parts of the partnership are already live, while others will roll out in the coming months.
Here's what we know about the new Amex and Accor partnership so far, including a timeline and which cardholders are eligible.
Expanded American Express and ALL Accor Global Partnership
The new partnership between American Express and ALL Accor features elite status matching and point transfers, and it is certainly global. Cardholders in the following countries can take advantage:
- Australia
- Austria
- Canada
- France
- Germany
- Hong Kong
- Italy
- Japan
- Mexico
- Singapore
- United Kingdom
- New Zealand
You might notice one country missing from this list. That's right — at least for now, cardholders of U.S.-issued American Express cards are not eligible to enjoy the benefits this partnership provides.
Transfer Membership Rewards to ALL Accor Points
The first part of the partnership introduces ALL Accor as a transfer partner. Interestingly, the transfer ratios and minimum transfer amounts will vary by location.
At the time of writing, transfers are already available to cardholders in the following countries:
However, additional country-specific details should be released throughout the rest of the year.
Complimentary ALL Accor Gold Status
In addition to points transfers, American Express Platinum Card® members (including consumer, SBS, and corporate versions) will receive complimentary Accor Gold status. Currently, this benefit is available in the UK, but reports indicate it will be coming to Canada later this year.
To earn Gold elite status, you typically need to spend 30 nights or earn 7,000 status points. Primary benefits include:
- 48% bonus reward points on stays
- Early check-in or late check-out, subject to availability
- Room upgrades, subject to availability
- Guaranteed room availability three days before arrival
- Free Wi-Fi
- Welcome amenities
One thing to keep in mind is that the status match isn't given in the form of elite night credits, so you can't use your complimentary Gold status to fast-track your way to a higher tier within the Accor elite program.
Although not mentioned in the press release, it appears that cardholders in Australia are eligible for an annual ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership, so there might be parts of this rollout that we still don't know much about.

Our Take
If you live in any of the 12 countries participating in this new partnership and you hold an eligible American Express credit card, you will soon have access to ALL Accor as a transfer partner and complimentary Gold elite status. Keep a close eye on your local American Express website to see when these benefits arrive in your country.
For now, cardholders in the U.S. will need to wait and see if the partnership will expand. If it does, we will be sure to update this post with the latest information.
