Citi ThankYou® has added Aeromexico as a transfer partner, effective immediately. Points transfer to Aeromexico at a ratio of 1:1, with a minimum transfer of 1,000 points. The move is the first new partner to be added to Citi ThankYou® since the addition of Turkish Airlines in 2017. The addition gives Citi a total of 15 airline partners in the ThankYou® Rewards program.

Aeromexico Transfer Partners
The addition of Citi ThankYou brings the total number of flexible point currencies you can transfer to Aeromexico to three:
- American Express Membership Rewards – transfer at a ratio of 1:1.6
- Citi ThankYou – transfer at a ratio of 1:1
- Marriott Bonvoy – transfer at a ratio of 3:1
Aeromexico Sweet Spots
Compared to other reward programs, the Aeromexico award charts are not the most rewarding in the world. However, there are still some good options to be had especially if you are transferring points from American Express at a ratio of 1:1.6.
One of the best options for Aeromexico redemption is their round-the-world tickets, which will set you back 352,000 miles in business class, or 224,000 miles in economy. The award includes 15 stopovers with a maximum of five per continent. When it comes to booking standard awards, some of the best options with Aeromexico include:
- Business-class roundtrip awards from the U.S. to North Asia for 180,000 Premier Points.
- Business-class roundtrip awards from the U.S. to Europe for 160,000 Premier Points.
Our Take
It is always good news when another travel partner is added to a flexible points currency, even if the ratio is not the best around. If you are looking to make a substantial transfer of points, you are better off looking at Membership Rewards for the bulk of your transfer; however, if you are short a few points, or are just looking to top up your points balance, then a transfer from Citi ThankYou can be very useful.

New partners are always welcome, mainly if we plan to visit Mexico.
I’ve not traveled to mexico, but this information would be great if i ever plan to in the future, These kind of partnerships between organizations can be a huge benefit to customers and businesses alike
Great! Thanks for the information. I thinking of going to visit Mexico soon and I need to coordinate the tours. Thanks!!!
I think last time I checked Aeromexico had been charging hefty fuel surcharges actually that made them less atractive to me overall. If nothing has changed since then, I don’t think I’ll be flying a lot with them. But nonetheless additions are always welcome!
Good to see a new partner.
Lol! I thought they already were! I think my brain is not paying attention to who has who for a transfer partner.
I agree with ya’ll. Another partner, even if not so good, is still a positive. Who knows if you’ll just need it one day.
Options are always good. I think I have seen a post on how to use AM. I think I might have to brush up on what
can benefit me most.
Gaining partners is always a positive in my book.
Another unexciting addition…
Citi needs to start adding some hotel partners to stay competitive.
Sweet! Nice to see AeroMexico join the Citi ThankYou fold.
Mexico here I come!
Nice to see an addition rather than a subtraction
Time to go to Mexico
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, due to ongoing events, many people have no interest in going to Mexico for safety reasons.
You never know, the day may come where it makes the best sense of all travel options. So good.
The RTW award offer sounds exciting!
Glad to see partners are being added, although I probably won’t use this one
An excellent option to make a good exchange of points
Thanks for the information! Aeromexico this time.
Thanks for keeping us up to date on these new connections!
I’m glad to hear this! I always love having more transfer options.
I did not know about their RTW option. The number of stops makes it an intriguing proposition.
By the way, you have a typo above. It’s Marriott Bonvoy, not Convoy.
Updated – thanks for pointing that out Kevin.
I haven’t heard of anyone actually being able to book an Aeromexico Around the World award, despite it existing on paper. Have you?
No, actually!
Great to see a new partner!
You have got to love the fact ne2 partners get added, opens up more opportunities.
This idea of topping up points didn’t use to appeal to me. Somehow, I;ve discovered, that I always seems to be short a few points or miles and cannot take advantage of the points I have.
Awesome thanks!
As another poster said, this will likely not benefit me. But flexibility is everything in this game and another transfer partner is a positive.
Great to see a new North American transfer partner. Thanks for letting us know.
Additions are great, but I’m not sure this will personally benefit me.
Great news! Is there a link to see the other airlines partnered with Citi ThankYou?
Thanks again for keeping us posted on the latest news
@Jaun, here you go: https://awardwallet.com/blog/citi-thankyou-points-rewards-guide/
Of course you’ll find such a link on AW! And, I will attest to the fact that the search bar works well. Used it a number of times.
Great news! Thank you!
