We're used to reporting on credit cards getting new benefits. Just last year, two of the most popular premium cards on the market, the American Express Platinum Card® and the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, got major overhauls. However, we're not used to reporting on new cardholder benefits without discussing an increase in annual fees.
Luckily for JetBlue Premier Card holders, that's exactly what's happening today. JetBlue just announced new and expanded benefits on the JetBlue Premier Card, while keeping the annual fee at $499 (and $150 for each authorized user).
Here's what to know.
New Benefits Coming to the JetBlue Premier Card
The JetBlue Premier Card launched last year and is already getting a makeover. Cardholders will soon have access to the following new and expanded benefits:
- (New) JetBlue Premier Companion Pass Statement Credits: Earn a companion pass up to $500 in value after spending $15,000 on your card in a calendar year. Earn another companion pass worth up to $1,500 when you spend $75,000 in a calendar year. To use your pass, book and pay for your companion's trip on your reservation, apply the pass, and receive a statement credit after you both travel.
- (New) 25-Tile Bonus: Receive a 25-tile bonus at the beginning of each calendar year — halfway to Mosaic 1 status.
- (Enhanced) TrueBlue Travel™ Statement Credits: You can earn up to $300 in annual statement credits when making purchases with TrueBlue Travel. Previously, you could earn a $50 credit when you spent $250 or more (up to six transactions per calendar year). Now, there's no minimum spending requirement.
- (Enhanced) 15% Redemption Rebate: You'll now receive a 15% redemption rebate of your TrueBlue points on award flights operated by JetBlue and its partner airlines. This is up from 10% exclusively with JetBlue.
- (Coming soon) ClassPass Credits: Enroll to receive up to 14 monthly credits to use on fitness classes and wellness experiences at studios, spas, salons, gyms, and more nationwide.
The process for using the companion pass differs from that of other cards. You'll earn the statement credit only after you both travel. If you book your ticket nine months in advance, that's a long time to be out up to $1,500.
Similarly, the 15% redemption rebate is very competitive with Delta's TakeOff 15, but you need enough miles to book the redemption in the first place. However, getting rebates on partner airline flights is absolutely phenomenal.

Other JetBlue Premier Card benefits
All of these perks are in addition to the benefits cardholders already enjoy, like:
- First checked bag free
- Group A boarding on JetBlue-operated flights
- 50% savings on in-flight purchases
- Access to BlueHouse Lounges
- Priority Pass Select membership
- Up to $120 credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck enrollment
- 5,000 bonus TrueBlue points on each cardmember anniversary
If you're a JetBlue loyalist, you can now get even more value from your JetBlue Premier Card.

Bottom Line
These enhanced benefits help to justify the high $499 annual fee. A 15% redemption rebate on JetBlue partners means you can now squeeze extra value when you book flights on partners like Icelandair, Qatar, and United. Plus, if you already use your card for your day-to-day purchases, you might spend enough to earn at least one companion pass without changing your spending habits.
If you're working toward Mosaic status, it's also nice to get halfway to the first tier without ever taking a flight. And the TrueBlue Travel statement credit is much easier to maximize. Previously, you had to spend at least $1,500 across six different transactions to fully maximize the credit, which took a lot of work. Now you can use the full credit in a single transaction.
We don't have a date yet for when these benefits will be available to cardholders. The press release simply says, “Cardmembers will receive the new benefits, and have access to updated reward rules, upon launch later this spring.” Hopefully, you'll be able to enjoy these benefits sooner rather than later.
