The calendar recently flipped to March, and if there’s one takeaway from the first little bit of the year, it’s that loyalty programs are making changes at a rapid pace. Since early January 2026, we’ve seen the launch of a new transfer partner (from a program you might not have even known had transfer partners), enhancements to a couple of co-branded United cards, and much more.
Many of these changes aren't substantial enough to justify their own post. That’s why we round them up in semi-frequent installments of Points of Interest.
So, here’s a roundup of the minor points and miles news that dropped over the past couple of months.
Klarna Adds a New Transfer Partner
Did you know that Klarna (yes, the company most associated with buy now, pay later) has transfer partners? Well, it does. And it just added a new one!
In early March 2026, Klarna officially added Wyndham Rewards as a transfer partner. With this addition, you can now redeem one Klarna cashback point for 74 Wyndham Rewards points. And this is just one of many transfer partners where you can redeem Klarna cashback.

Based on information from Klarna’s website, it also appears the program is in the process of adding even more transfer partners. But here’s what’s currently available:
Unfortunately, you can’t unlock access to Klarna’s transfer partners just by setting up a buy now, pay later plan. Instead, you need to engage with Klarna at the membership level.
To that end, Klarna offers four different card membership tiers (Core, Plus, Premium, and Max), each with its own monthly fee and set of benefits. All of these paid memberships give you the opportunity to use the cash back you earn on pay-in-full purchases (not BNPL plans) toward airline miles or hotel stays.
Wyndham Is Shutting Down Its Online Shopping Portal
There aren’t many hotel online shopping portals to begin with, and that number is about to shrink. On April 3, 2026, Wyndham will shut down its shopping portal for good.
Before adding a banner to its shopping portal website announcing the closure, Wyndham plastered a notice in its general Wyndham Rewards terms and conditions on March 2, 2026, stating the following:
Important Notice about the Earn Mall: April 3, 2026 is the final date to make a purchase and earn Wyndham Rewards points through our online Shopping portal. Only purchases processed prior to or on April 3, 2026, and approved by retailers by June 3, 2026 will be eligible to earn points.
So, if this is a portal you use, mark that date on your calendar!

You Can Now Redeem OneKeyCash for Rental Car Reservations
On March 4, 2026, One Key (the loyalty program for Hotels.com, Vrbo, and Expedia) finally added section 5.4 to its program terms and conditions. Previously, the terms jumped from section 5.3 straight to 5.5 — skipping 5.4 entirely.
So, what’s in the new section 5.4? This: you can now redeem OneKeyCash for rental car reservations. Here’s the relevant language from the terms and conditions:
Subject to the general exclusions set out at Section 5 above, you can use available OneKeyCash to pay for the partial or full cost of a “Pay Now” car rental and insurance on Expedia. OneKeyCash cannot be used where some or all of the cost is required to be paid directly to the Travel Supplier.

At some point, maybe OneKeyCash will be as useful as real cash…
Spirit Airlines Hikes Reservation Center Booking Fee
Spirit Airlines is a low-cost carrier, and that’s practically synonymous with “there’s an extra charge for everything.”
One fee Spirit has charged for a while is a reservation center booking fee, which applies to flights and vacation packages booked through a Spirit reservation center. And that fee just went up 20%, according to the “Other” section of Spirit’s optional services webpage.
On March 3, 2026, Spirit raised its reservation center booking fee from $25 per booking to $30. In the explanation for what this fee covers, Spirit notes that it applies to reservations made through its reservation center “since a live agent is more expensive than self-service online.”
And that makes sense. So, if you want to save some cash, book your Spirit Airlines flights and packages online.

United Increases PQP Earning Cap on Two Credit Cards, Adds PQP Earning to Another
Have plans to earn United MileagePlus Premier elite status? If so, credit cards can help you get there faster. And three co-branded (but somewhat obscure) United credit cards saw updates to how they earn Premier Qualifying Points (PQP) on January 22, 2026.
Two First Hawaiian Bank-issued United cards now have higher PQP earning caps:
- United® Credit Card: Members will continue to earn 1 PQP per $20 spent, with an increased cap of up to 2,000 PQP for the 2026 program year. This is up from a previous cap of 1,000 PQP per program year.
- Note: This card is available only to residents of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
- United® World Elite Business Credit Card: Members will continue to earn 1 PQP per $20 spent, with an increased cap of up to 2,000 PQP for the 2026 program year. This is up from a previous cap of 1,000 PQP per program year.
- Note: Your business must be based in Hawaii, Guam, or Saipan to apply.

In addition, United added the Bam MileagePlus Visa Infinite® to its “How to earn Premier status” webpage for the first time. Cardholders earn 1 PQP per $20 spent, with a cap of 1,500 PQP for the 2026 program year.
Generally, cards from this particular issuer are limited to Guatemalan residents. So, if you’re a U.S. resident looking for another way to earn PQP, consider one of these cards instead:

$0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $150Rates & Fees
- 2X miles per $1 spent on purchases from United®
- 2X miles per $1 spent on dining and hotel stays when booked with the hotel
- 1X mile per $1 spent on all other purchases

$350Rates & Fees
- 5 miles per $1 spent at Renowned Hotels and Resorts
- 3 miles per $1 spent on United® purchases
- 2 miles per $1 spent on all other travel
- 2 miles per $1 spent at restaurants
- 2 miles per $1 spent on select streaming services
- 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases

$150Rates & Fees
- 2x on United® purchases
- 2x on local transit and commuting — including train tickets, taxicabs, mass transit, tolls and ride share services
- 2x at gas stations, restaurants and office supply stores
- 1x on all other purchases

Spirit and Alaska Airlines Removed as Choice Privileges Earning Partners
The Choice Privileges program has a long list of airline partners, though not all of them work the same way. With some airlines, Choice offers points transfers (often at poor ratios). With others, you can earn airline miles instead of Choice points when you stay at a Choice property. But the list of partners in that second category shrank on January 5, 2026.
On that date, Choice Privileges removed both Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and Spirit Airlines Free Spirit as earning partners. This means you can no longer earn 250 Alaska or Spirit points per Choice stay.
Now, Choice has just three airline earning partners remaining:
- Aeromexico: Earn 400 miles per stay.
- Qantas: Earn 3 points per AUD spent on stays in Australia or 600 points per stay in New Zealand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji.
- Virgin Australia: Earn 3 points per AUD or NZD spent in Australia or New Zealand, or 600 points per stay in Singapore, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji.

Lufthansa Removed as a Best Western Earning Partner
Speaking of airline-hotel partnerships, here’s more not-so-good news. On January 5, 2026, Lufthansa was removed as a Best Western earning partner.
Before this breakup, Lufthansa Miles & More members could earn 500 miles per Best Western stay. Miles & More miles can be somewhat difficult to earn, and while this partnership wasn’t exactly a gold mine, it was still a way to pick up miles without a ton of effort.
As for why this change was made, it might have something to do with Lufthansa’s new partnership with Marriott Bonvoy. But on the bright side, if you frequently stay at Best Western properties and don’t want to earn Best Western Rewards points, you still have several airline earning options:
- Air Canada Aeroplan: Earn 250 miles per stay
- Air France-KLM Flying Blue: Earn 250 miles per stay
- Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan: Earn 250 miles per stay
- Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards: Earn 600 points per stay
- United MileagePlus: Earn 250 miles per stay
- And more

Delta Slashes Change Fees on Classic and Basic Tickets From Select Regions
Who loves change and cancelation fees? Nobody.
On January 8, 2026, Delta updated its change and cancellation fee table for travel originating in Asia and the Pacific. In doing so, it slashed fees for both Classic and Basic tickets. Here’s what it now costs to change or cancel one of these tickets:
- Classic tickets: Free (down from $330)
- Basic tickets: $199 (down from $330)
Note that these changes apply only to tickets originating in Asia and the Pacific and departing to destinations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Europe, the U.K., Africa, the Middle East, and India.

Accor Launches Two-Way Transfers With Air Europa
It wouldn’t be a Points of Interest roundup without some Accor news. The first of two tidbits this time around is that Accor Live Limitless launched a new two-way transfer partnership with Air Europa on March 5, 2026.
With this new partnership, transfers work like this:
- Convert 2,000 Suma Miles into 500 Reward points
- Convert 2,000 Reward points into 2,000 Suma Miles

Accor has a long list of partnerships with smaller and less prominent frequent flyer programs. While these partnerships might not be particularly exciting on their own, there's still value in having them around.
For example, if you have a handful of Air Europa Suma Miles sitting in your account, you now have another option for using them instead of letting them expire. Or, if you don’t have much use for your Accor points, you can transfer them to several airline programs and put them to work there instead.
About those other airlines…here are all the other programs whose miles you can transfer to Accor.
And here are all the airlines you can transfer Accor points to.
Accor Adds a New Bank Transfer Partner
In addition to its many airline transfer partners, Accor also has partnerships with nearly four dozen credit card rewards programs. The newest partnership rolled out on February 5, 2026, and it’s with CrediMax’s Thameen rewards program.
With this partnership, you can convert two Thameen points into one Accor Reward point.
Unless you live in Bahrain — of which CrediMax is a financing company licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain — you might not have much use for this partnership. Still, it’s fascinating to see Accor continue expanding its list of transfer partners.

Bottom Line
Well, there you have it. A lot has changed in the world of points and miles since we published our last Points of Interest installment in the early days of January 2026. Many of these changes are fairly minor, but they show just how often programs make quiet updates.
Maybe none of these changes affect your points, miles, or travel strategy. Or maybe they do. But that’s exactly why Points of Interest exists: to keep you informed about the things airlines, hotels, and other loyalty programs don’t always feel the need to share.
