Lyft is also targeting business spending with its new Lyft Business Rewards program, offering up to 8% back as “Lyft Cash” for eligible businesses, plus bonus points from Hilton or Alaska. Believe it or not, this setup is even more rewarding than a personal Lyft account. Let's dig into the program's details and see if it fits your travels.

The Lyft Business Travel program promotes several benefits for businesses:

How To Sign Up For Lyft Business Rewards
You can sign up for a Lyft Business account on the Lyft website. Once approved, businesses can select a program to join and begin to add riders. I created a sample program for my business, shown below.

After creating a program, businesses can send invites to employees to participate. I received an email immediately, and was able to join my created business program in less than a minute.

The onboarding screens were transparent about the extra rewards I'd receive for being a part of a Lyft Business program. You'll need ot select “Business” when hailing a Lyft for future rides.

Let's dig into the reward details for this program.
Lyft Business Rewards Details
As mentioned in the intro, the Lyft Business program offers extra rewards beyond a personal Lyft account. For personal accounts, you'll earn Lyft Cash, up to 5% back on rides, when you do auto-reloads of Lyft Cash in amounts of $25, $50, or $100 with your debit or credit card.
For Lyft Business accounts, no auto-reloads are required to earn Lyft Cash. Here are the earning rates, dependent on the type of Lyft you hail:
- 6% Lyft Cash on everyday work rides (Standard, Priority, XL, Pet, Wheelchair, Green)
- 8% Lyft Cash on premium rides (Black, Black SUV, Extra Comfort)
- 8% Lyft Cash on all airport rides and scheduled rides
All Lyft Cash must be used within 60 days of earning.
In addition, those using the Business Travel Program for rides also earn bonus rewards from
- 2-4 miles per $1 spent on Lyft by selecting United MileagePlus, depending on the type of ride
- 6 Hilton Honors points per $1 on all rides
- 4-6 points per $1 with Atmos Rewards by Alaska
While earning rates are the same as personal rides with United and Hilton, you'll earn double the amount of points by selecting Atmos Rewards. Note, Bilt Rewards does not currently participate in the Lyft Business program.
Bottom Line
The Lyft Business Rewards program is a lucrative option for business owners, regardless of the size of your organization. Plus, you'll earn more rewards for booking business rides than with a personal Lyft account. For me, it makes complete sense to switch all of my Lyft rides over to my new business account, to earn up to 8% back on Lyft rides to the airport and 4-6 Atmos points per $1 with Atmos Rewards, my preferred airline program. With some small hoops to jump through, you can also earn these rewards the next time you ride with Lyft.
