United and Instacart have a great partnership that comes with several promotions and benefits for MileagePlus members. Members can earn up to 5,500 bonus miles, claim no delivery fees around a trip, or even get a complimentary Instacart+ membership with a United credit card.
If you're a MileagePlus member and not already using Instacart, you'll probably want to start taking advantage of these benefits and promotions. Here are all the details.

Earn 5,000 Bonus Miles for Linking United and Instacart Accounts
United MileagePlus members have an opportunity to earn 5,000 bonus miles. This offer is for United MileagePlus members who do not have an Instacart account or have an account but have not placed an order within the last 12 months. Members can only claim this offer once.
To claim these bonus miles, join Instacart+, link your MileagePlus and Instacart accounts, and complete four (4) qualifying orders within eight (8) weeks after linking accounts. You must pay for a yearly membership and keep it for at least 30 days. Complete these steps and receive the miles within eight weeks of the fourth qualifying order.
Only orders valued at $35 or more before taxes, tips, and fees are eligible. Restaurant orders and cancelled orders will not count towards the four required to earn bonus miles. Members must link their accounts by August 10, 2028, and complete their orders within eight weeks, or by October 5, 2028.
Annual memberships also come with free subscriptions to Peacock Premium and New York Times Cooking, so there's more to a subscription than just delivery-related perks.

Earn 500 Bonus Miles and $0 Delivery Fees with a United Flight
Another promotion is available for MileagePlus members with an upcoming United flight. Through September 28, 2028, members can enroll in a complimentary 7-day Instacart+ membership to earn $0 delivery fees for a week. You can activate this offer up to seven days before or up to 14 days after a domestic United flight. This membership, however, does not come with Peacock Premium.
Once you activate your complimentary seven-day membership, you will get $0 delivery fees on grocery and retail orders over $10, eligible restaurant orders over $25, and Costco orders over $35. You can use the offer as many times as you like during the seven-day window. You can then re-enroll in the offer with another eligible domestic United flight. Only flights departing and arriving in the U.S. are eligible.
Furthermore, after activating this offer for the first time and linking your United and Instacart accounts, you can then earn 500 bonus miles after completing your first Instacart order within 60 days. Once again, restaurant orders are not eligible to earn bonus miles. This offer ends on October 5, 2028.

Complimentary Instacart+ Membership for United Cardholders
Another major benefit of the United and Instacart partnership is complimentary Instacart+ memberships and monthly credits for eligible United credit cardholders. This is similar to the free Instacart+ membership available to eligible Mastercard holders, but with even better benefits. This promotion obviously supersedes the above offer for a complimentary seven-day Instacart+ membership with an eligible flight.
Use this link to claim your complimentary membership and up to $20 in monthly credits. You will need to sign up with one of the five eligible United cards. Once enrolled, your benefits will continue through December 31, 2027.
Instacart+, which currently costs $99 per year, comes with the following benefits:

Our Take
United MileagePlus members who enjoy using food delivery services might want to take advantage of this partnership. Members can earn up to 5,500 bonus miles after completing eligible orders. Furthermore, claim complimentary Instacart+ memberships with a domestic United flight or an eligible United Credit card. These benefits and promotions will be around for several years, but don't wait to take advantage of them.
If you want to try out one of the above complimentary Instacart+ memberships, make sure to put the end date on your calendar in case you decide to cancel. Otherwise, you will be charged for an extension of your membership (currently $99 annually).
