Key Terms

  • Promotion is valid through December 12, 2018, 11:59 pm ET
  • Receive a 25% bonus on the transfer of Citi ThankYou points to LifeMiles, effectively 1,250 LifeMiles for every 1,000 Citi ThankYou points

Is It Worth It?

If you are looking to top up your LifeMiles balance for a redemption, then this transfer bonus is a great option. Remember you can also transfer American Express Membership Rewards to Avianca LifeMiles, and you will soon be able to transfer Capital One Miles to LifeMiles.

If you are looking to build up your LifeMiles balance and have a low or a zero balance of miles, you may want to hold off. LifeMiles launches regular promotions offering a very generous bonus on the purchase of miles. We have regularly seen bonuses as high as 125% and occasionally an exceptional bonus of 145%. To build up a large balance of LifeMiles, you are better served taking advantage of one of the purchase promotions.

Our Take

Avianca LifeMiles is one of the lesser known frequent flyer programs, but one that is rapidly establishing a reputation as a solid player, with plenty of value and some excellent sweet spots. If you have a LifeMiles redemption in mind, then this promotion is an excellent option; however, if you are looking to build up a balance, you are better off holding fire until a purchase bonus comes along.
