Update 12/6/2023: Since publishing this post in October, PointsYeah further improved its offerings. Free accounts can now see four days of availability on one-way award searches, while premium members will see eight days of availability. Plus, free accounts can now set four price alerts and premium members get up to 24 price alerts. The post below has been updated to reflect these further improvements.

PointsYeah made waves when it launched earlier this year. The tool provides users a way to quickly and efficiently search for award flights, all for free! Even better, PointsYeah boasts a key differentiator among available tools: Multi-day award search capabilities.

Despite all these positives, my original PointsYeah review brought up a few areas for improvement. The tool had opportunities to increase the number of programs it searched, as well as to expand the possible ways to filter search results. To its credit, PointsYeah addressed these issues and more in just two months' time! Keep reading to learn the details of all the recent additions made to PointsYeah in the past couple of months.

PointsYeah Recent Improvements

In just two months, PointsYeah implemented several positive changes for users:

  • Additional award programs: PointsYeah now searches more award programs than before, including the niche favorite Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles.
  • Separate premium cabin searches: Previously, search options by cabin included just economy/premium economy and business/first. Now, separate searches for only premium economy and for only first class exist to help travelers isolate results for those cabins.
  • Improved results filters: PointsYeah now lets users customize the “Max Points” filter, instead of limiting options to preset thresholds. Additionally, a “Max Taxes” filter was added, with the same customization possibilities, letting users filter out results with large cash co-pays.
  • A paid premium membership: Users may pay a monthly ($8.99) or annual ($89.99) premium to access expanded functionality, including the following:
    • Include up to eight days of results when searching for one-way award flights — vs. four for free users.
    • Search up to eight total days of results (four outbound, four return) when searching for round-trip flights.
    • Use up to 24 Points Price Alerts, rather than just four for free users.

Additions in action

To quickly highlight the upgrades made to PointsYeah, below is an example search for business and first class from Chicago to Athens in July 2024. Thanks to a premium membership, my one-way search results are for a seven-day window, rather than just three:

Notice that my results are filtered on both “max points” and “max taxes.” I first set the taxes filter to $400 to eliminate any British Airways flights with high taxes and fees. I also set the points filter to just 45,000 points, knowing that the Turkish Miles & Smiles program charges that amount for business-class flights between North America and Europe.

Anyone interested in a premium membership has the opportunity to lock in a lower annual membership price. Before October 8, 2023, sign up here using promo code YEAH to guarantee a $59.99 annual membership fee for life. For those not interested in a premium membership, PointYeah assures us that its free features aren't going anywhere.

Final Thoughts

PointsYeah continues to make improvements, even after making quite the initial splash when introduced. Each and every addition provides more value to users. Searching more programs, with greater results customization, entails an overall better experience — and all for no cost!

For those who want the most functionality possible, a paid premium version exists. With all of the possibilities the free tool offers, the paid membership might seem like only a marginal upgrade. However, locking in a lower price now could prove fruitful depending on how any future additions are disseminated to users.
