Emirates' new promotion for Skywards members offers a 25% discount on economy class award flights with partner airlines — including United Airlines, Japan Airlines, Qantas, and more. You must book by August 9, 2026, and travel dates extend through July 22, 2027, making this Skywards award discount a great opportunity to lock in lower award rates for upcoming trips.
This automatic discount applies to new bookings on partner-operated flights, and there's no need to route through Dubai to take advantage. Furthermore, with the recent drop in redemption rates, you can book a domestic U.S. flight on United for as few as 2,250 miles.

Emirates Skywards Partner Awards Flights 25% Discount
Emirates just relaunched a program giving Skywards members a discount on awards flights with select partner airlines. Through August 9, 2026, book an economy class awards flight with 25% fewer Skywards miles.
Eligible Skywards partners
Only economy class flights marketed and operated by one of the following airlines are eligible:
- Air Canada
- Air Mauritius
- Azul
- Bangkok Airways
- Condor
- Copa Airlines
- Garuda Indonesia
- GOL Airlines
- Japan Airlines
- Jetstar
- Korean Air
- Malaysian Airlines
- Qantas
- South African Airways
- TAP Portugal
- United Airlines
FlyDubai, EasyJet, and Jet2 award bookings are not eligible for this offer, probably because they don't utilize a fixed award chart.
Getting this Skywards award discount
The 25% discount is automatically applied to the award flight price. All Skywards members can apply the discount to any eligible flight, both one-way and round-trip. Taxes, fees, and fuel surcharges are excluded from the discount and must be paid in full. A booking fee per flight also applies, such as $5.60 with United flights.
This deal is only valid on economy fares booked by August 9, 2026, and eligible travel dates are through July 22, 2027. This offer is only good on new bookings. However, if your ticket is reissued after August 9, you will still have the 25% discount, although reissue fees may apply.
While this promotion is from Emirates, awards flights with partner airlines do not need to go through Dubai. For example, you can get a 25% discount on all economy class United awards flights booked by August 9.
Earlier this year, Emirates dropped its redemption rates for most partner airlines. As such, you can find flights with this promotion for airlines such as Qantas, Korean Air, and Bangkok Airlines for as few as 2,250 miles each with the 25% discount.
However, the new award rates chart does not apply to Air Canada, Japan Airlines, Jetstar, and United Airlines. So, the cheapest United flights are still 6,000 miles with the 25% discount.
Examples of discounted flights
With the 25% discount, you could fly from San Francisco to Denver for 9,000 Skywards miles instead of the standard 12,000 miles, plus a $5.60 security fee.
Another option is to fly from San Francisco to Los Angeles for 6,000 miles instead of 8,000 miles, plus just $5.60 in taxes/fees.
You could also fly from Chicago to Kansas City for 6,000 miles instead of 8,000 miles.
If you're abroad, you also have plenty of discounted routes, such as Bangkok, Thailand, to Da Nang, Vietnam, for 7,500 miles, plus taxes and fees of less than $10.
How to book an awards flight with the 25% discount
Use this link to book your economy class awards flight. Toggle the switch labeled “Classic Rewards,” then in the airline filter, choose “Partner.” Select your departure and arrival airports and travel dates, and keep the booking in economy class. The price in miles automatically reflects the 25% discount.

Even if you don't know your exact travel dates yet, you could still take advantage of this promotion. Simply book your tickets by August 9 and then change them later. You must pay the change fee, but the 25% discount will still apply to your flights.

In 2024, Emirates dropped the cost of economy partner awards flights by up to 55%, and then dropped up to 76% more off all award flights in 2026. This promotion knocks another 25% off!
