If you are a cardholder of the Chase Sapphire Reserve® (Rates & Fees) or the Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (Rates & Fees) and you frequently book properties through The Edit, you can take advantage of an elevated Points Boost offer at select hotels around the world.

Here's how to book your next stay for fewer Chase Ultimate Rewards points, and whether it's worth considering.

What Is The Edit by Chase Travel?

The Edit is a curated collection of hotels and resorts worldwide, similar to Amex's Fine Hotels + Resorts® or Capital One's Premier Collection. Only cardholders of the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve Business are eligible to book hotels through The Edit.

When you book a stay, you'll get a variety of elite-style benefits, including:

  • Daily breakfast for two
  • $100 property credit that can be used on dining, spa treatments, or other activities at the property
  • Room upgrade at check-in, if available
  • Early check-in/late check-out, if available
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi

Always compare prices between what is advertised on Chase Travel℠ and what the hotel charges for direct bookings. Sometimes, Chase Travel adds a premium when you book through the platform, which can negate any benefits you receive from booking a property through The Edit.

If you want to use your points to book a stay or flight through Chase Travel, you can take advantage of Points Boost. Both the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred receive a standard 1-cent-per-point value on all bookings.

However, select flights and hotel stays are eligible for a Points Boost, allowing you to spend fewer points for the same booking. Sapphire Reserve cardholders used to get a guaranteed 2X Points Boost at The Edit hotels, but this was discontinued at the end of 2025. Now, all redemptions are “up to” 2 cents per point, with select properties falling below this threshold.

However, Chase has just announced a best-ever 2.5X Points Boost for select The Edit stays. If you want to stretch your points as far as possible, it's worth considering.

Properties Eligible for the 2.5X Point Boost

There are currently 11 properties eligible for the elevated 2.5X Points Boost. Not so coincidentally, each of these properties is located in one of Chase Travel's 26 Trips to Take in 2026 destinations, including:

  • Four Seasons Hotel Osaka in Osaka, Japan
  • Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado in Santa Fe, New Mexico
  • Gardena Grodnerhof Hotel in the Italian Dolomites
  • Grand Hyatt Deer Valley in Park City, Utah
  • Hotel du Couvent, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Nice, France
  • InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa in Dominica
  • Nobu Hotel San Sebastian in the Basque Country, Spain
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Portland in Portland, Oregon
  • Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in South Caicos
  • Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam in Amsterdam, Netherlands
  • The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel in New York City, New York

If you were already planning a trip to one of these destinations and want to stay at one of these hotels using points, it would be wise to book your stay while you can — as we're not sure how long these boosted rates will stick around.

Notice that some of these hotels belong to a major loyalty program — you can book the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley with World of Hyatt points, The Ritz-Carlton, Portland, with Marriott Bonvoy points, and the InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa with IHG One Rewards points. Other properties on this list, however, do not belong to a major hotel loyalty program, so if you want to use points, you might need to book through a travel portal.

Here's how much the 2.5X Points Boost could help you save. If you were to book The Surry, A Corinthia Hotel, without Points Boost, you might spend $2,832.91 or 282,811 Ultimate Rewards points and $4.80, to book a king room for two nights. However, with a 2.5X Points Boost, you'll spend just 113,125 Ultimate Rewards points on your stay. Savings of almost 170,000 Ultimate Rewards points are certainly nothing to scoff at.

You'll have to determine for yourself if those savings justify the added cost of booking through Chase Travel. When booking directly with the hotel, you could get the same room for just $1,738.59, which is a $1,000+ difference. However, you can't redeem points for your stay unless you earn GHA Discovery dollars.

Bottom Line

It'll be interesting to see how regularly Chase Travel releases a new batch of 2.5X Points Boost-eligible properties. Until then, if you have a stash of Chase Ultimate Rewards points and you want to book one of these 11 properties, take advantage of the discounted award price. As always, compare prices through Chase Travel with the hotel's rate. Even with a 2.5X Points Boost, you might pay more through The Edit than you would booking directly with the hotel.
