At almost any given time, Southwest Airlines runs a few Rapid Rewards bonus point promotions to help you grow your account balance and book your next free flight faster. Right now, there’s a new offer to earn double points on flights, another to earn up to 20,000 bonus points after taking a certain number of flights that ends soon, and more.

[Registration Closed] Score Double Points on Southwest Flights Through Mid-November
If you’re planning to fly Southwest soon on a revenue fare, you might as well earn double points. After registering for this offer by August 18, 2025, and booking flights by that same date, you can earn double points on flights completed by November 19, 2025.
Members will receive 14X bonus points per dollar spent on Choice Extra fares, 10X bonus points per dollar spent on Choice Preferred fares, 6X bonus points per dollar spent on Choice fares, and 2X bonus points per dollar spent on Basic fares. There’s no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn.
Cash + Points bookings also qualify for double points on the portion paid in cash. However, this offer cannot be combined with the promotion below, so it may only make sense to register if it will earn you more points than the alternative.
[Expired] Earn up to 20k Points After Taking Eligible Southwest Flights
With this offer, Southwest Rapid Rewards members can earn up to 20,000 bonus points on eligible flights. You’ll need to register first, and this offer may be targeted. After registering, you can earn bonus points for completing up to six flights by August 31, 2025:
- 5,000 bonus points after one round-trip flight or two one-way flights
- 10,000 bonus points after two round-trip flights or four one-way flights
- 20,000 bonus points after three round-trip flights or six one-way flights
This promotion isn’t valid on existing bookings and isn't combinable with any other promotional offer. If the fare you’ve already booked hasn’t increased or has gone down, it could be worth rebooking to qualify. The offer applies to both cash and award bookings.

Southwest Car Rental Promotion
Southwest has partnerships with Avis and Payless for Rapid Rewards members to earn bonus points on eligible car rentals. Through January 31, 2026, members can save up to 35% and earn up to 2,400 bonus points with Avis, or save up to 10% and earn up to 1,200 bonus points with Payless.

Our Take
Who doesn’t love bonus points? Even if you’re not thrilled with all the recent changes at Southwest, it’s still possible to rack up plenty of them with these offers, and the airline still delivers decent value for award flights.
These promotions are an easy way to fund more free (or nearly free) travel. Just be sure to read the terms and conditions carefully. Most offers aren’t combinable, so register for the one that will be most rewarding, and make sure to book by the stated deadline so you don’t miss out.
