While the Amazon Visa is not the most lucrative card for everyday spending, it is a good option for shopping on Amazon. That's because other cards typically give their “on other purchases” rate for Amazon purchases — so 1% back or a single point per $1 spent.

Other Ways To Maximize Amazon Earnings
While an Amazon card is a great way to boost your earnings for shopping, it isn't perfect. That's because Amazon points lack the flexibility of transferable points. You only can redeem Amazon points for Amazon purchases, as cash back, toward certain gift cards, or within the Chase travel portal.
When looking to make a payment on Amazon, you should always check whether any credit cards with rotating quarterly bonus categories have included Amazon for the current quarter.
Cards like the Chase Freedom Flex℠, the Citi® Dividend Card, and even the Discover it® Cash Back have included Amazon.com purchases as 5% bonus categories in the past. Due to the flexibility, earning 5% cash back with Citi or Chase will always be a better value than Amazon Rewards. That's because transferrable currencies have more options for how you use your points.
If you can't find a card that includes Amazon as a bonus category — or if you don't want to worry about how to use transferable points — then using the Prime Visa or Amazon Visa can make sense.

Points that do not expire is a generous policy, and this allows you to focus on building up a balance of Amazon Rewards points to use for a special occasion — like buying Christmas presents.
