Each year, Lufthansa Miles & More rolls out the same rewarding (but confusing) promotion that lets members earn bonus miles on Avis car rentals. Once again, Miles & More members can earn up to 24,000 bonus miles on rentals through April 30, 2026, and it’s just as unclear as in years past.
The promotion advertises up to 10,000 miles per rental, but the terms and conditions only explain how to earn 8,000 bonus miles. However, the offer can be repeated up to three times, which means you can earn as many as 24,000 bonus miles in total.

Earn up to 24k Bonus Miles & More Miles on Avis Rentals
This Miles & More promotion first launched in 2023, and it was just as confusing then as it is today. Both the Lufthansa and Avis websites clearly state that the promotion offers up to 10,000 bonus miles. However, the most bonus miles you can earn on a single rental is actually 8,000.
To take advantage of this offer, book through this Avis landing page (not a third-party booking site) by January 31, 2026, using your Miles & More service card number. Your rental must be completed by April 30, 2026. No registration is required.
You’ll earn up to 8,000 bonus miles per rental, depending on how many days you rent the car. These bonus miles are awarded on top of any standard miles you'll earn.
- 4,000 bonus miles for rentals of 3-5 days
- 6,500 bonus miles for rentals of 6-10 days
- 7,500 bonus miles for rentals of 11-14 days
- 8,000 bonus miles for rentals of 15-28 days
Rentals longer than 28 days won’t earn any bonus miles. However, you could split a longer rental into multiple shorter bookings to maximize this promotion.
Members can repeat this offer on up to three Avis rentals, for a total of up to 24,000 bonus miles.

- The following special rates are excluded:
- Rates for travel industry employees
- Van hire rates
- Corporate rentals
- Insurance replacement rentals
- Tour operator, broker, and net rates
- Avis specials
- Some Avis stations are not participating in this promotion.
- Multiple rentals in one day and long-term rentals (more than 28 days) are excluded.

Our Take
This is the newest version of the great, albeit confusing, Avis promotion we've seen regularly since 2023. The main points are to book your rental on the Avis landing page by January 31, 2026, and include your Miles & More number. Then, complete your rental by April 30, 2026.
It's just a question of why the promotion states you can earn up to 10,000 bonus miles when it doesn't provide any way to reach that number.
