This summer, Alaska Airlines is selecting one random passenger per day to upgrade to Premium Class, giving them more legroom, drinks, and priority boarding. Here are the details of this promotion and how you'll know if you've been selected.
Alaska Airlines Free Premium Class Upgrades
Alaska Airlines just launched its “Upgrades Unlocked” promotion. As we come into the busy summer travel season, Alaska Airlines will upgrade one or two lucky Mileage Plan members per day, moving them into Premium Class.
Premium Class seats are those between the main cabin and First Class, offering four extra inches of legroom (the most legroom for any U.S. legacy airline). Premium Class also comes with leather seats, complimentary beer, wine, or cocktails for passengers over 21 on most flights over 350 miles, and priority boarding.
Each day from June 1 to September 2, 2024, Alaska Airlines will upgrade one passenger to Premium Class. The Mileage Plan member will be notified through the app or email for their complimentary Premium Class upgrade. If the passenger has a travel companion on the same booking, the companion will receive the same upgrade.
Note this is one passenger per day across the entire flight network, not one passenger per flight. The network includes international destinations, such as Canada, Guatemala, and The Bahamas. This promotion applies to Alaska Airlines flights only.
Key terms
- Fly with Alaska Airlines anywhere within the network between June 1 and September 2, 2024.
- Once per day, Alaska Airlines will upgrade one passenger and their travel partner to Premium Class.
- With Premium Class, enjoy the following benefits:
- More legroom.
- Complimentary alcoholic beverages for 21+ passengers on most flights over 350 miles.
- Priority boarding.
Our Take
While chances of getting selected for a Premium Class upgrade this summer are slim, it's still a great promotion for Mileage Plan members. As a tall passenger myself, extra legroom is always a huge blessing.
And don't forget about the other Alaska Airlines promotions, including 4x miles on car rentals, status matches, and more.
