American Express has launched its AMEX Do More Business program, the successor to its OPEN Savings program which we reported in March would be discontinued June 1, 2018.

Amex Do More Business Offers

Program Overview

Do More Business is a direct replacement of the OPEN Savings program, and is similar to Amex Offers, but is for holders of American Express Business cards. In American Express's own words to see your offers, you need to do the following:

  1. Log in to your American Express® online account at americanexpress.com  or use the Amex® Mobile app to view your offers
  2. See an offer you want? Simply add it to your Card in one click. Offers are added all year long so continue to check in to see what’s new
  3. Use your enrolled Card to pay and then enjoy savings in the form of a statement credit
  4. View your savings in your American Express online account or the Amex Mobile app

Alternatively, you can visit americanexpress.com/domorebusiness, and log on to view all the offers available to you. The program is open to Amex Business cards including the following:

Do More Business Offers

Five offers are currently available; all expire on November 30, 2018, and will give you a percentage of your spending back as a statement credit. Offers include:

  • FedEx: get 25% back, maximum of $1,000 in statement credits
  • Dell: get 10% back, maximum of $1,500 in statement credits
  • Staples: get 10% back, maximum of $100 in statement credits
  • Lowe’s: get 10% back, maximum of $100 in statement credits
  • Exxon Mobil: get 10% back, maximum of $100 in statement credits

Our Take

The introduction of the Do More Business program is a good thing in the wake of the closure of the OPEN Savings program, although it remains to be seen how the program develops and whether it will represent a better value than its predecessor.

  • I like most of the offers, although I miss getting streaming media offers. As most offers appear on multiple AMEX business cards, I take care to load each onto the card with the highest base earnings for that spend category.

  • FYI, this is also available on the old AMEX SimplyCash card. It is no longer taking applications, but many people received it as a replacement for the Costco True Earnings card.

  • Best thing about these new offers is that the cash back posts promptly. For both the Staples and the Lowes offers, I received my cash back as soon as the purchases posted.

  • PEnnie Gregory says:

I sure will use the one from Lowes.

  • I like that they come out of the gate with strong offers. Hope they keep this up.

  • I like it and I don’t – I frequently “forgot” about OPEN savings, but I see Amex Offers whenever I log on.
The issue is… I have more than one OPEN card, and you can only add the offers to one card per online account. I’m aware of multiple accounts trick, but for me, the ease of one log on for all my Amex cards is more important.

  • Thank you for reminding me of these offers. Unfortunately, it seems that all offers are not available to everyone. Despite having both the business Platinum and the Blue for Business, both the Lowes and the Exxon Mobil offers are not available to me. I will have to keep checking back.

  • ron_vaughn@hotmail.com says:

    like the Lowe’s discount.

  • Jacqueline says:

There are some good courier offers in there especially for businesses.

  • lowes and exxon are great offers!!

  • Looking forward to making some $$ of these deals. Hope there is more to come.

  • yeah lets see what becomes of it! 10% doesn’t really excite me…

  • Lowe’s and Exxon sound appealing

  • Anything is good, but let’s see how it shapes out like you concluded.
