Based on a since-retracted document, American Express plans to cut the ribbon on a brand-new Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan International Airport in the next couple of years. The planned outpost will be one of the biggest in Amex's branded lounge network, and there's a lot to look forward to — starting with a green roof and an outdoor bar.
Here's what we know about the Amex Centurion Lounge Boston and what you might be able to expect when you walk through the doors.
Amex to Open a Brand-New Centurion Lounge in Boston in 2027
Unlike other lounge announcements we've seen in the past, the one announcing the Boston Centurion Lounge didn't come from American Express. Thrifty Traveler stumbled across documents uploaded to the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) website that indicated the airport's governing body approved Amex's proposal to construct a massive lounge near the C gates.
Unfortunately, these proposal documents (caution: pdf link) have since been pared back, but not before we could learn a bit about what's coming to BOS.

Starting this spring, Amex and Massport will break ground on a 20,000-square-foot, two-story Centurion Lounge near gate C10. Renderings indicate that this new lounge will feature a green roof, an outdoor patio and bar, and expansive views of Boston's tarmac. It'll be close to Chase's Sapphire Lounge and the soon-to-be-constructed JetBlue lounge.
Eligible Card Members can also enjoy customary amenities such as an indoor bar, plenty of seating, and a living room-type area complete with a fireplace.

Suffice it to say, this new Centurion Lounge should be pretty exciting — even if it suffers from the all-too-typical overcrowding. However, it's not due to open until sometime in 2027. AwardWallet reached out to Amex for more details, but the issuer stopped short of even confirming the new lounge, with a spokesperson passing along the following comment:
“We’re always looking for ways to expand the Centurion Lounge network in airports our Card Members frequently travel through and have plans to open new Centurion Lounges at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in Utah and Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo in 2025 and at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey in 2026. We don’t have any additional details to share at this time.”
Based on the documents we reviewed, it seems unlikely that an Amex Centurion Lounge isn't in the works in Boston. Instead, it appears that the Massport documents were not intended for the general public.
How To Access Amex Centurion Lounges
It's too early to tell if Amex's Centurion Lounge access policies will change once the Boston location opens. But for now, here's a quick run-down of how to get into a Centurion Lounge:
- You need to carry a Platinum-branded Amex card, such as The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express to access Centurion Lounges.
- Those with the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card or the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card flying on a same-day Delta ticket are eligible to enter Centurion Lounges.
- If you want to bring a guest, you will need to pay $50 per adult and $30 per child (from ages 2 to 17) at the door. However, those who spend $75,000 annually on their eligible card will receive complimentary lounge access for up to two guests.
- Amex does not sell one-time day passes at the door.

Final Thoughts
American Express — like seemingly almost every other card issuer — is in the process of trying to grow its airport lounge network. Outside of Boston, new Centurion Lounges are due to arrive in Salt Lake City, Tokyo Haneda, and Newark in the next couple of years. Another outpost in Boston would be an excellent addition.
More details about the Boston Amex Centurion Lounge will likely be coming out in the near future. Once Amex confirms the location, we'll update this post to reflect the most accurate information.
