Skye Class

Staff Writer

Skye joined the AwardWallet team in 2019. After leaving his full-time job in 2014 to travel the world, he’s created his own website SkyeTravels.com to make traveling a reality for everyone, no matter their financial means. He’s a big fan of reward program for anyone with a credit card, and has used several of the programs himself.

Skye can most often be found working diligently in a cafe somewhere in the world. So far he’s been to 50 countries and counting. He travels the world with his partner and puppy in a van, never content to stay in the same place for long (unless it’s at the top of a mountain overlooking a beautiful sea).

Earn a Free Night After 2 Stays with the Choice Q4 2019 Promo

Choice Hotels is out with its fourth-quarter promotion, and it’s very similar to what we’ve seen in the past. Once again, earn up to 8,000 points from two stays, enough for a free stay at more than 1,000 of their properties. This deal is interesting because the total points you earn with two stays are the same whether you pay $40 per night or $280 per night. Let the search for cheap Choice Hotel rates begin!

Redeem Your Alaska Miles on Aer Lingus Flights

Alaska Airlines now allows you to redeem your MileagePlan Miles on Aer Lingus flights to Dublin and then onward within Europe. Although this option has been around for a few months, it’s worth a closer look at how to maximize your value from the new partnership.

United MileagePlus Miles No Longer Expire

United has made a major change to the MileagePlus program rules by eliminating mileage expiration, effective August 28, 2019. If you don’t fly with United or their partner airlines frequently, you won’t have to worry about losing your miles due to inactivity. While this change is definitely positive, the long term impact will be more miles in circulation which adds pressure to increase award prices in the future.
