Avis launched a new promotion offering Miles & More members 8,000 bonus miles on rentals through May 2023. Confusingly, the promotion is posted on Avis as earning 10,000 miles, but the terms and conditions only detail how to earn 8,000 bonus miles. The promotion can be earned up to three times, meaning you can earn up to 24,000 bonus miles. Here are the details.
24,000 Bonus Miles & More Promotion
This promotion is quite odd as the website clearly states 10,000 bonus miles. However, the most miles you can earn at one time with the promotion is 8,000.
To take advantage of this promotion, make a booking with the Avis landing page (meaning not a third-party booking site) before January 31, 2023, using your Miles & More service card number. Your car rental must be completed before May 30, 2023. You will then earn up to 8,000 miles on your rental, depending on how many days your rental is.
- Rentals of 3-5 days will earn 4,000 bonus miles — in addition to the standard miles per status.
- Rentals of 6-10 days will earn 6,000 bonus miles — plus elite status miles.
- To maximize this promotion, rent a car for 11-21 days to earn 8,000 bonus miles, in addition to the standard miles per status.
Rentals more than 21 days long will not earn any bonus miles. So, you'll want to break up any longer bookings into multiple shorter bookings to maximize this promotion.
This promotion can be repeated up to three times per Miles & More member. The terms and conditions do not state that there's a maximum of 10,000 points per member. So, each member should be able to earn up to a total of 24,000 bonus miles.

- Valid for rentals from the category “medium size” of the respective Avis rental country.
- The following special rates are excluded:
- Rates for travel industry employees
- Van hire rates
- Corporate rentals
- Insurance replacement rentals
- Tour operator, broker, and net rates
- Avis specials
- Some Avis stations could be excluded from this promotion.
- Multiple rentals in one day and long-term rentals (more than 21 days) are excluded.
Our Take
This is a great Avis promotion to rack up some bonus miles on rentals in 2023. No registration is necessary, so the main points are to book your rental on the Avis landing page and include your Miles & More number. It's just a question of why the promotion states you can earn up to 10,000 bonus miles when it then doesn't give any way to reach that number.
Don't forget there's also a status match for Avis to gain an Avis elite status level by matching from another car rental company.
