For the second time this year, American Airlines is offering up to 50,000 bonus AAdvantage miles for round trips between North America and Europe.
American has pulled together oneworld® partners British Airways, Iberia, and Finnair to participate in this promotion, with a combined 100+ transatlantic flights a day that will qualify towards earning the bonus points.
Valid for flights between May 9 and July 31, 2016, you can cash in on this bonus twice for two return trips and potentially earn 50,000 AAdvantage miles.
The offer is not available on flights operated by codeshare partners, however, it is available on transatlantic OpenSkies flights operated as British Airways flights.
- 2,000 Bonus Miles Earned for Other Economy Fares
- 15,000 Bonus Miles Earned for Premium Economy or Select Full Fare Economy
- 25,000 Bonus Miles Earned for First or Business Class Fares
While the bonus for discounted economy fares dips down to 2000 bonus miles, full-priced economy and premium economy tickets will net 15,000 bonus miles and then jump to 25,000 for first and business class.
Given that it's only discounted economy fares that are relegated to 2000 points the best return on this promotion will be to set alerts on discount business class across the four participating airlines to maximize the return on dollars spent.

AAdvantage bonus mile offer is valid only on American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair or Iberia, marketed or operated nonstop flights for round-trip travel between the U.S., Canada, Mexico and U.K. or Europe, May 9, 2016 through July 31, 2016. Flights operated and/or marketed by other codeshare partners are not eligible for this promotion. Offer applies only to AAdvantage members who purchase and fly on eligible published-fare tickets on or after May 9, 2016. Bonus miles will be calculated and awarded based on the number of trips flown in a specific booking class. The bonus can only be earned for a maximum of two round-trips. Half the round-trip bonus will be posted after each eligible one way segment. Bonus miles do not count toward elite status qualification or AAdvantage Million Miler status.
