Avianca LifeMiles Hotels is a fickle beast — constantly coming out with new promotions, yet not making it clear until days later. The latest promotion is no exception. For a limited time, you can earn 50% bonus miles on hotel stays booked through LifeMiles Hotels, allowing members to earn up to 22,000 LifeMiles per night.
Let's dive into some examples of how you can utilize this promotion for your next hotel reservation — and whether it's worth it.

How to Book Through LifeMiles Hotels
As we lay out below, booking through the LifeMiles Hotels platform is straightforward. For this promotion, you'll need to sign into your LifeMiles account and search for a hotel using the “Pay and earn LifeMiles” option.

When you search for a hotel through this option, the bonus amount will be reflected automatically. Let's take a look at a couple of examples of how this bonus will be applied when booking through the LifeMiles Hotels portal through this promotion.
Crowne Plaza Asuncion by IHG: Earn 34 LifeMiles per $1
I'm planning a trip to Paraguay this year, so I can book the Crowne Plaza Asuncion by IHG for just $129 per night, or $425.54 for three nights, including taxes and fees. Booking under this promotion, I can earn 14,550 LifeMiles, or over 34 LifeMiles per $1 spent.

However, note that not every property will have the same earning potential. For instance, the Aloft Asuncion for the same dates would cost $338.75, and I'd only earn 2,550 LifeMiles on the booking. Although 7.5 LifeMiles per $1 spent is certainly nothing to scoff at, it's clear there are better options available.
Es Saadi Marrakech Resort – Palace: Earn 18.5 LifeMiles per $1
Although you might associate LifeMiles Hotels with Latin America, you can book properties all over the world. In addition to Paraguay, I'm also hoping to visit Morocco for the first time this year. I could book a junior suite at the Es Saadi Marrakech Resort – Palace for $636 per night, or $2,134.20 for three nights, including taxes and fees.
Thanks to the 50% bonus miles promotion, I'd earn 39,500 LifeMiles on this booking, averaging 18.5 LifeMiles per $1 spent.

And since LifeMiles regularly runs promotions on award travel, the 39,500 LifeMiles I earn on the booking could easily get me a business class ticket from the U.S. to Central or South America.
LifeMiles Hotels vs. Booking.com
Although the LifeMiles Hotels portal is powered by Rocket Travel by Agoda and associated with Booking.com, it's important to know that these are two different ways to book hotels. To take advantage of this promotion (and future LifeMiles promotions), you'll need to make your reservation through the LifeMiles Hotels portal.
The LifeMiles Hotels portal is understandably less popular than Booking.com. Unless you are a dedicated LifeMiles member, there's a chance you didn't even know it existed. But because it's in partnership with Booking.com, it still offers thousands of options, just like the standard Booking.com portal.
Other Ways to Earn More Avianca LifeMiles
This promotion is just one of many ways to earn LifeMiles. So, if you need more than what your stay will provide through this offer, you might consider topping off your LifeMiles balance by buying miles (ideally during a promotion with a bonus or discount) or leveraging one of LifeMiles’ many transfer partners.
Here are all the programs that partner with Avianca:
This means you can take your pick of transferable points currencies and unlock the ability to transfer them to Avianca LifeMiles. And with several fantastic credit card offers currently available, it’s easier than ever to build up your balance quickly.

Our Take
For a limited time, you can earn up to 22,000 bonus LifeMiles per night for reservations made through the LifeMiles Hotel portal. While that might seem like a steal, you would likely need to book a very expensive hotel to come close to this number. As you can see from our examples above, even earning 34 LifeMiles per dollar spent yields around 5,000 miles per night.
Also, keep in mind that you likely won't earn toward hotel elite status or receive any benefits of status you currently hold if you book through the portal. Traditionally, those perks are reserved for stays booked directly with the hotel. However, for those not chasing elite status or booking an independent hotel, the extra miles you'll earn during this promotion will likely be worth it for future flight reservations.
If you still want to take advantage of this deal, you'll need to act fast, as the booking window for this promotion closes on March 21, 2026.
