How to Book
You can find this deal and discounts to other regions on the Delta Skymiles Deals page. The best way to search for these discounted fares is to use the Flexible Days or 5 Weeks search options on Delta.com.
While checking out the availability for this promotion, we came across many discounted premium-economy awards on the same routes. Although this sale is being marketed as main cabin only, you might be able to snag a seat closer to the front of the plane with a little extra effort.
Our Take
These flash sales may be of limited use to travelers who need more than a few days advance notice to plan a trip. But for those who can take advantage, there is clear value. Delta often charges 30-100% more miles than competing frequent-flyer programs like American and United for the same types of awards. Promotions like this are a great opportunity to squeeze significantly more value out of your Skymiles balance.
Although Delta does not publish their mileage prices, you can check out our Unofficial Delta Skymiles Award Chart to get an idea of the minimum mileage requirements. The normal one-way price from the U.S. to Europe is 32,500 miles for main cabin, so this sale comes out to roughly half off on round-trip travel.
The Skymiles program gets a lot of well-deserved criticism for their frequent devaluations and lack of transparency with program changes. It's great to see these flash sales becoming more common, even if the limited booking window doesn't work for everyone.

A good way for topping up the account.
Maybe I should plan a trip soon.
I’m disappointed I missed this! How often do these sales happen?
Becoming more and more frequent. We’ll keep posting when a good deal pops up 🙂
Great deal to use those Delta miles.
Great deal but the date restrictions blocks a lot of people, including me.
Definitely some excellent redemption opportunities on great routes. Especially European cities from NY
Great deals but with all the riots and protests Europe was a bit of a pain in the butt last month and it’s only getting worse.
Is there any pattern to these flash sales in terms of how often they occur?
None.
Looks great! Wish there was a 32K out of SLC…
this is amazing deal to use those skymiles
usually they charge crazy amounts lately since the many devals last year
It seems that many of the Sky Team award charts have gone the dynamic pricing route.
I wonder if Delta is doing this sale to attempt to reverse the bad online press due to their repeated devaluations.
Mostly economy class promos are kinda bummer.
Good reason to build up those miles
32k to get me to Europe ….great deal
Thanks for the heads up!
If only those sales would also work the other way around…
Seeing award sales like this really makes United look bad and makes me want to convert.
Erik Paquet, thanks a lot for the post.Really thank you! Much obliged.
Always love seeing Flash Deals!
Greatly appreciate the info. Only wish I could take advantage right now.
The problem is DL does not run promos for business class tickets.
Whenever they have a promo, it’s always for economy only, which kind of sucks IMHO.
Looks like a great deal. Just wish I had the flexibility to jump on this ?
This is a great deal. Wish I had time to take advantage of it.
The deal from IND to CDG is a great deal, thanks for the info!
Your unofficial SkyMiles chart is really interesting. Thanks for that resource.
Agreed!
This looks like a good deal to burn a few Delta miles.
Great deal. Too bad I used up my vacation already.
I’m going to have to try this.
I’m glad they’re offering these deals regularly, because I have 100k+ SkyMiles in hand, but I wish they had more offers to or from SoCal.
Great fares for points, been waiting for a deal like this.
Great news for economy travelers. I don’t think I could do that long of a flight in economy.
Even the standard economy class awards on travels provided by international partners would not allow seat assignments.
Im typically a United guy since I live near Frankfurt, and I really wish United ran something like this. This isn’t enough to make me switch loyalty but it’s worth considering a mile transfer if FRA ever pops up on the list.
I wish they had a flash sale from every major city to a tleast one destination. Otherwise it is not useful for most.
I wish the trees in my backyard grew money, but they don’t.
These specials also work ex-Europe. I just checked CDG-IND, and it’s at 32,000 miles in January. However, the fees are obscenely high at 366€ (about $400). LHR-JFK is also available at 32K, but fees are £371 (which is $467). These types of fees make award travel out of Europe a non-starter 🙁
Why does Delta penalize European based flyers like that? there’s no justification – surely a CDG-IND return flight incurs exactly the departure and airport fees as an IND-CDG return flight – the two legs of the trip are the same, just in a different order. Most of the fee is a “carrier imposed international surcharge” (i.e. Delta). thanks Delta!
Through this sale Asia in Premium Economy is priced like regular economy… not to shabby.
Only if I had the time
Wow! What an awesome sale.
Not used to seeing such deals on JFK-LHR and JFK-CDG
SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!
As someone with many Delta miles, I appreciate the unofficial award chart and plan to bookmark for future adventures! Thanks.
Great deals if the dates happen to work for you.
It definitely does not work for me this time.
Thanks. Europe wasn’t on my plans, but 32,000 miles round trip may be hard to ignore . The only negative, JFK is so far from everything.
That is really hard to beat when these pop up.
These are low season flights, and the current Iberia award sale is better.
Yes – by the time people find out about this, it will be too late, since it ends in a couple of days: more of a low season publicity stunt than anything else.
Yes, it’s low season, but those that are engaged in following the program will have the opportunity for significant savings.
some serious savings here!
Despite the constraints, this is an amazing deal!!
I SO WISH THEY WOULD DO THIS WITH BUSINESS
These flash sales might be the only way to get value out of my Delta points. It seems they are on a rolling basis. This one is for a travel time that is a little too early for my requirements, hopefully another one will come along for my future vacation days.
Even though in low season this is an excellent offer.
are these the new delta basic economy award fares ?
Glad I am starting to collect Delta miles again….seems they don’t want to show an award chart, but a good flash sake helps!
This is so cheap!
I have found that if you use the flexible days option and have enough time to check a few timeframes, you can find deals pretty close to these Flash sales, but with more departure/destination options.
nothing from the west coast?!
Very Flying Blue like promotion 🙂
1/2 off is a good deal.
Looks like a great deal, good work Delta.
Hopefully other carriers will follow suit.
