Our Take
Honestly, we're not sure if this is a sale. Delta doesn't publish an award chart, and if we don't know the standard price, how do we know if this is a sale? And how big of a discount is this?
At the end of the day, we'll take a price that is better, but it'd be nice to know what sort of deal we're getting.

Central America also on sale. I saw US- Costa Rica for 10,500.
I believe that whatever I can find the lowest is the best. I still am trying my darnest to find these sale fares and great fare people find on Southwest and I never do! I’m just trying to get to pdx or even las. Still have not found any low fares. So who ever has the lowest I think it’s a deal to where ever I’m going when I’m needing to go.
I wish I had gotten an email from Delta announcing this. A 3 day sale is too short.
Has there been a pattern established yet regarding when Delta typically has award sales? Beginning of year, quarter, winter, spring, etc?
Typically every month plus random throughout the year.
Anytime I find a DAL award for 25,000 RT, I consider it a win and book it. Sometimes I get the dates I want on the first try and sometimes I have to be flexible.
Right there with you Bill.
I have less trust in Delta than in other US carriers, including AA. I think the old rule of “earn ’em and burn ’em” is especially true with Delta, since they will probably devalue mileage currency sooner than their competitors.
Also not sure if much of a sale, but I had a few orphaned miles with Delta and this was a good reminder to check their award availability. I found something useful, so thanks!
Interesting. I checked, but it doesn’t seem to have a deal for the route I’m looking for.. I’ll probably sit this one out.
without something to compare to how is this a sale?
What, you don’t trust Delta? 😉
No deals from Atlanta ? . That’s why Delta sky miles sucks . United miles are wayyyyyyyyyyy better .
I never quite know what to think about Delta except I miss the good ole days.
Ill take any offer they will throw at us
haha! Great Take on things!
I took a look at flights and there doesn’t appear to be a sale for the places I normally go. The last time they had one of these offers, I lucked out. It’s really hit or miss with Delta.
What this supposed promo fails to say is if there will be any actual seats available at these prices. Delta has offered these “promos” before, and I’ve never been able to find any seats at the supposed rates. I mean if Delta makes a couple dozen seats available at discounted rates (out of tens of thousands of seats available), is it really a sale? I think not.
Several routes are “on sale” for more than the former standard 25000 miles domestic one way. That doesn’t sound like much of a deal to me. Although not surprising coming from DL.
such generosity by Delta ( not )
Sometimes the miles requested are higher than normal.
Or there will be soon another hidden devaluation (no award chart anyway).
Not much of a sale here.
If they only had an award chart, this would be less of a news.
take what i can get…
What are the taxes like on Delta awards?
Only the 9/11 fee of $5.60 per segment
Wow, incredibly confusing and lack of transparency to the customer.
Good sale but yes I do agree it’s annoying delta doesn’t publish an award chart.
Seattle to LAX for 6500 miles seems good
I guess any moiles you use now is always a sale compared to what your trip will cost after the next mile redemption value downgrade.
Ill take any bones they throw, normally, most of their redemptions are worse and worse, so every once in a while when decent value can be attained no reason to complain.
Some “sale” prices are >25K RT.
ORD/ATL/JAX round trip the best fare I could find was 21,000 miles.
Exactly, not much of a sale.
Seems a bit better than using miles at JetBlue or American after the 10% back if you have one of their credit cards.
Haha the “Our Take” is the best part of this article.
hey, we speak the truth, no?
Delta should reverse this trend.
We’re all in the same choir here! Keep preaching.
Nice of Delta to throw us a bone every now and then
Yup, typical opaque SkyMiles pricing!
