Delta has announced a new partnership with Lyft where you can earn miles every time you ride. This promotion was initially extended through November 1, 2017, has been further extended through January 15, 2018, and again through February 1, 2018.
Earnings Rates
- You will earn 1 mile per Dollar spent on all rides; the figure excludes spend on tolls and taxes
- Through January 15, 2018, you will earn a 2 miles’ bonus on all rides to airport locations, giving you 3 miles per Dollar spent to airport locations
- As a signup bonus, you will receive a $20 credit, split into two individual $10 Lyft ride credits
- Earning is on all Lyft rides, including Lyft Line, Plus, Premier, and Classic
- To take advantage of the offer, you need to link your Delta and Lyft accounts
What is great about this partnership, is that you earn miles for every ride you take regardless of destinations, unlike the current partnership between Lyft and JetBlue, which only lets you earn miles on trips you take to the airport.
Our Take
Any new partnership that lets you earn more miles for spend you would ordinarily make is great news. It is great that Lyft is teaming up with another airline to let you earn while your ride. Hopefully, in the long run, the partnership does not suffer a devaluation, similar to what happened with the SPG and Uber partnership.

it seems that most of the lyft drivers are also driving for uber
delta gets to have total access to your account, see all your rides, where you went, your profile, etc.
Boo. Just saw this after I took my Lyft rides. Oh well, it was only a $14 ride so didn’t miss out too much.
This is so good as I frequently use Lyft rude to get to airport. Combining with delta sky miles give more mileage.
Doesn’t Starwood do this with Uber too??
Just signed up
No smartphone for us, so no advantage here 🙁
thank you for the information!
These bonus points posted 48 hours after I took Lyft. Nice!
Thanks for the link to the Lyft and JetBlue partnership. That post came out before I was made aware of this blog. I clicked on the link, read the post, and signed up immediately.
Seems like a great opportunity to earn Delta miles.
Love it since I use Lyft during many business trips!
Nice, good way to earn more miles with no effort
Don’t really care for SkyMiles or Lyft in particular but im glad to see more stuff like this partner up. Hopefully more services will do the same soon, besides, free miles for something i was gonna do anyway is never bad
New partnerships are always good. Especially after Uber devalued its partnership with SPG
Excellent. In New York, Lyft is more or less interchangeable with Uber, yellow cabs, and any number of other ride-share services. This seems like a smart way to increase business for the summer.
This is great, I’ve been waiting for this to happen for a while 🙂
As I could not find it – is Lyft only available in the United States? Or is there something similar in Europe too?
Lyft is available in many countries in the world.
It’s good to see more partnerships like this.
Not a lot of points for Lyft occasional users but new opportunities are always appreciated!
Let’s hope that United or American now tie up with Uber!
This is one reason to use Lyft more compared to uber.
It’s great to be able to earn rewards with Lyft, it just unfortunate that the reward is Delta miles…
I don’t go out of my way to earn SkyPesos, but if they’re giving them away for a ride I’d take anyway, I guess I’ll take them…
Now, all that’s needed is to find use for skymiles
Always accept with open arms more mile earning partners to any airline or hotel chain. This one could be easy points as we use similar services anyway, thanks!
nice move from lyft. but i still use uber more since i have amex platinum
Nice, I will take Lyft for airport trips now
This will definitely get me to try Lyft.
At least once.
Is there much difference between this service and Uber?
the service experiences are quite similar — for me, I always pick whichever is less expensive / faster for pick up.
Great and easy way to ensure that your Skymiles don’t expire without too much heavy lifting
SkyMiles don’t expire; you don’t need to worry about having any activity to keep the account active.
more reason to use lyft over uber!! great news
This is a nice bonus for lyft riders. Really wish all of the airlines start some sort of partnership with them.
Good thing its not like the SPG thing where you actually have to stay at a starwood hotel before you can start earning. How stupid…
