Enterprise is the largest car rental company in the U.S., with over 9000 locations, including bases at over 400 airports. The company also has a significant presence in Europe with multiple locations in Spain, the U.K., and beyond. Aside from passenger vehicles, Enterprise also has a large fleet of trucks and vans available for rent.

Enterprise Plus points will expire if you do not have qualifying activity on your account for a period of time. However, as long as your account is active, your points will never expire. Once expired, points can not be reinstated.

Per the Enterprise Plus terms and conditions page, your points will expire if you have no qualifying activity for 36 months.

“When a Member earns one (1) or more points for a Qualifying Rental, Enterprise will keep their points balance intact for the next thirty-six (36) months. Thereafter, the points balance will be forfeited.”

What Is a Qualifying Rental?

Enterprise is particular about what it considers a qualifying rental to keep your points alive. Rentals must meet one of the following criteria to qualify:

  • A paid rental booked directly with Enterprise or its partner National.
  • An award rental with Enterprise or National — as long as the total period includes at least one day of paid rental.

The T&Cs are clear that bookings through a third-party app or online travel agent do not count as a qualifying rental. These rentals will not reset the expiration date of your Enterprise points. Here's the link to book directly with Enterprise or with National.

Enterprise Plus Loyalty Program Benefits

Joining the Enterprise loyalty program is a good move even if you don't rent a car very often. Enterprise rewards are based on dollars spent; so the more you rent, the more you earn. While this program's earning structure isn't the most lucrative or creative, there is value in a simple rewards program that is easy to understand.

In addition to earning points you can use towards rentals with no blackout dates, loyal customers can rise through the elite-status ranks and earn perks like free upgrades, access to a dedicated customer-service phone number, and members-only check-in to get you on the road faster.

Tracking Your Enterprise Plus Points Using AwardWallet

Thirty-six months is a long time, and it is easy to get a false sense of security about the expiration of your Enterprise Plus points. That is why it pays to use AwardWallet to keep track of your Enterprise Plus points and send you a timely reminder when you have points in danger of expiration.

All you need to do to keep track of your points is add your Enterprise Plus account to your AwardWallet account, and you are ready to go.

Our Take

Despite the limited options available to extend the validity of your points, the Enterprise Plus loyalty program is still worth a closer look and does deliver some value. The three-year expiration window is downright generous compared to other rental car loyalty programs — which have as short as a 12-month expiration window.
