Hilton seems to be offering quite a few offers that allow you to earn bonus miles or points with partners. Currently, you can pick up quadruple Avios with British Airways for qualifying stays at participating Hilton hotels. Hot on the heels of this offer Hilton is now offering bonus AAdvantage miles for stays until March 27, 2017.

Hilton Earn Miles In Your Sleep American Airlines

AAdvantage Offer with Hilton

The current promo is straightforward and lets you earn 500 bonus miles per stay or per night depending on which brand of hotel you stay. The key terms and conditions are as follows:

  • Earn 500 Miles per stay at Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton® Home2 Suites, and Homewood Suites
  • Earn 500 miles per night at Hilton, Curio, DoubleTree by Hilton™, Embassy Suites, and Hilton Grand Vacations
  • The maximum you can earn with this promotion is 10,000 miles, the equivalent of 20 nights or stays
  • You need to link your Hilton account with your AAdvantage Points and Miles account to earn the bonus miles
  • You need to register for the promotion

Overall

This is another great promotion from Hilton, who seems to be very active at the moment with the recent changes to their Hilton Honors program, and their 2K Every Day promotion which runs through April 30, 2017. With so many different promotions now is a great time to choose Hilton for one of your future stays, which not only will give you some bonus points but will also keep any points you have from expiring.

  • Thanks for this information. I was looking for some bonus offers through Hilton and AA! I just registered and made my reservation for a stay next week.

  • Too bad this bonus ends so soon. Most of my travel is later in the year. I’ll be looking for the next one though

  • Too bad most of my travel is after March!! Good bonus but I’ll miss out.

  • Finally something useful for me. AA and Hilton accounts are both things I am trying to boost.

  • Thanks for the tip – perfect timing. I’m probably one of the “infrequent” Hilton consumers you mentioned above so the fact that I’m staying at a Hilton next month for a conference and would prefer the airline miles to the hotel points works out perfectly!

I wonder if they’ll consider extending this beyond March 27th, maybe even make it a more permanent option?

  • Good info. Wish the promo went on longer but we may try to take adavantage of it next month.

  • Thanks for the tip, i have a 3 nights already booked, and I did not register yet.

  • Fantastic promo. I’m going to register as soon as possible. Thanks!

  • unless it is a cheap stay, the Hilton points are a better deal

  • Can these promotions be stacked? 2K every day; app bonus and this?

  • William Blankenship says:

Great I plan to take advantage of this next month

  • This is a great offer and stacks with other promos as well.

  • It’s a very good bonus points offer really but why are you informing your readers about it so late? It was announced like 3 weeks ago.

  • well i just stay at hampton without knowing this promotion… and i signed up late for 2K…

  • Good bonus if going for AA points. I also prefer to book direct. I find I get better upgrades. Compared with 3rd party bookings.

  • Thanks for providing this important information!

  • I like this but 2000 points + 500 app booking bonus seems to be better since I am not collecting AA miles now?

  • Just registered!

  • Awesome! I registered for this promo. Thank you!

  • Hilton has quite a few offers available right now, hopefully they can be stacked to take advantage of all the offers.

  • Can these Points be earned on Stays paid with Points and Cash?

    • Based on the terms, it appears as though yes, however Points and Cash stays have not been explicitly identified. However, wording “Members will not earn miles for Reward Stays” is listed.

  • Great, I just registered for this promo. thanks!

  • This is probably not a bad deal for infrequent Hilton customers.

  • I always book my Hilton Hotels through their website. It is not worth it to me to give up my elite benefits for third party bookings. I am currently registered for the “2K Every Day” promotion so I will probably not take advantage of this offer.

    • I dont think this is a third party. You can get this through Hilton’s website. You just have to register and then make sure you are earning American miles

    • Double Dip means you can combine this promotion with the 2K per day promotion. Just choose Points & Miles and AA as your preference.

  • I like this! However, I have my Delta number with Hilton since I can double dip everytime. Can I change to my American number and still get this promo? Going on a driving trip for Spring Break and this would be perfect!

  • I keep thinking it’s time for me to jump in on hotel promotions and do some mattress running. This next month just might be the time to focus and make it happen!

  • This bonus looks perfect for me! I’ll definitely be taking advantage of it!

  • ROBERT CORRAO says:

Howie, i’ve noticed that it is more points efficient to use rocket miles or pointshound to book hotels rather than going through the hotel itself. Is my observation correct? thanks, rob

    • It really depends on your overall goals. If you book through Rocketmiles or Pointshound you’ll be foregoing any benefits you’d otherwise receive through the hotel directly. Not bad if you’re just using the hotel as a place to sleep and don’t want extra perks through lounge access, breakfast, free Wi-Fi, etc — just need to keep things in perspective. I have many friends that happily give up any hotel points for more miles.

      • amzsinger@gmail.com says:

You also have to consider the ease of using hotel miles rather than getting additional airline miles. I find airline miles more difficult to redeem.

      • I’m all for earning some extra airline miles, but I seldom find giving up earning hotel points to do so, worth it. The only time(s) I’ve found it lucrative enough to book via Rocketmiles was during their three double-miles promotions, which sadly seem to be a thing of the past, since there have not been any for at least a couple of years now…apparently they were only offered to drive interest immediately following their initial launch. And Howie, as you rightly say: having to give up hotel status perks is also a big down-side when booking hotels through 3rd party channels.

    • Interesting. I always find that they are more expensive, precisely because they are paying for miles to give them to you… If it were truly lower, I would be doing Best Rate Guarantee claims using their rates…
