In the United Arab Emirates, it's common for citizens to get free gifts to celebrate important birthdays. And, in celebration of its 15th birthday, Etihad is extending that tradition by offering all Etihad Guest members 1,500 miles.
The only caveat is you have to register before September 6, 2021. Etihad is also offering 15% of your miles back on all award flights booked with Etihad Airways before September 6 for travel before December 31, 2021.
1,500 Miles for Etihad Guest Members Promotion
This is a really simple promotion. Members who register here before September 6, 2021, will receive 1,500 Etihad Guest miles to their account. No other purchase or actions are necessary — except signing up as an Etihad Guest member if you aren't one already.
Terms and Conditions
- Make sure to input your membership number when registering for this promotion.
- Bonus miles will be credited to the member's account by September 15, 2021.
- Each member can only claim the promotional bonus once.
Etihad Guest miles expire after 18 months of no account activity. So, these free miles will extend the validity of your existing mileage balance by 18 months.
15% Miles Back on Etihad Award Flights
In addition to 1,500 free Etihad Guest miles, Etihad is giving 15% miles back on all award flights booked before September 6, 2021 for travel before December 31, 2021. Tickets must be booked on Etihad Airways operated flights with award points to qualify.
Only economy and business class tickets are eligible. So, you can't use this promotion to save on first-class awards. This mileage bonus does not apply to tier miles or tier segments. Etihad will credit the 15% rebate to your account at the end of the month in which you complete any eligible flight.
If you want to take advantage of this Etihad promotion, you can transfer points from:
- American Express Membership Rewards (1:1 transfer)
- Capital One Miles (1:1 transfer)
- Citi ThankYou Points (1:1 transfer)
- Marriott Bonvoy (3:1 transfer with a 5,000-mile bonus for transferring 60,000 points)
Our Take
If you're an Etihad Guest member, make sure to register to get 1,500 free miles just for registering. It's not a lot. But hey, why not?!
As for the 15% mileage rebate, Etihad has canceled many of its flights from the USA. However, you can still fly Etihad flights from Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. Or perhaps you can book another flight from one of the other 74 airports Etihad services if you happen to be traveling internationally before the end of the year.

Wow, every airline should consider doing something like this for their current customers to reward their loyalty!
For folks who simply want to confirm receipt, or luckier yet, actually have travel plans to make, I received these miles this past week.
Easy miles! Thank you for sharing!
I registered. Thank you for the heads-up, AwardWallet.
Great, thanks for the heads up. Love free miles.
Thanx!!! Exactly – why not? Just for validity extension
Good opportunity to pick up some free miles on a top shelf carrier…..who knows, you may actually get to use them someday too if the pandemic ever truly subsides…..like the article says, why not sign up and get some free miles?
It helps that they’re quite easy to add to later, e.g. Amex transfers. As you said it can’t hurt!
Thanks, worked for my and my OH’s accounts, now to see if they post correctly.
Thanks! I would just change the registration link to go directly to the Etihad Guest site instead of OMAAT.
