Free Spirit 500 Points Promotion

The Senior VP at Spirit Airlines said, “We wanted to provide a welcome bonus for new Free Spirit members that also acts as a ‘thank you’ to all of our current members in the program.” As such, a new bonus has been announced for all new and existing members.

All you need to do is create a new Free Spirit account (if you don't already have one). After enrolling — or if you're already a member — register for the bonus with your Free Spirit number and email address and you will earn 500 Free Spirit points.

As flight redemptions start at just 2,500 points, 500 Free Spirit points gets you 20% of a flight without having to do anything beyond registering. This offer expires on December 31, 2022.

Spirit Airlines Status Match

Spirit Airlines is offering a 90-day complimentary status match with other airlines, as long as certain requirements are met:

  • You have not had a complimentary status match with Spirit Airlines in the past two years.
  • Your current elite status with another airline is from meeting the airline’s published requirements, not complimentary or through a promotion.
  • You must have a membership document showing your existing elite status with another airline.

If you meet these requirements, fill out this form to get your 3-month complimentary Spirit Airlines elite status.

Credit Card Bonus Points

Spirit Airways has also bumped up the sign-up bonus on their co-branded credit card. For a limited time, you can apply for the Free Spirit® Travel More MasterCard® and Earn 50,000 Bonus Points + a $100 Companion Flight Voucher when you apply online and after making at least $1,000 in purchases within the first 90 days of account opening.

Our Take

Several years ago, Spirit Airlines was not regarded as a great airline. That seems to be changing recently, with improved operations, onboard Wi-Fi, and better flight connections. The revamped Free Spirit rewards program and co-branded credit card are just some of the recent improvements. Check out our complete guide to the Free Spirit Program.

Whether you're a fan of Spirit Airlines or not, getting 500 Free Spirit points just for registering is a nice bonus. Will you be claiming it?

  • I am waffling on this. On one hand it would be nice to have points with Spirit but then I don’t fly them because I like having baggage I don’t have to pay extra to have and not have to pay extra just to get a seat assignment. But I am looking at them for day trips. Then maybe it would be worth it.

  • Thanks for 500 free Spirit points.
