Through Wednesday, November 9, 2016, you can book a Hilton stay for 20% off as a part of a flash sale. This promotion only applies to stays booked by 11:59 PM Eastern time on Wednesday, so be quick if this sale covers locations and dates that work for you. In addition to booking your stay by the end of Wednesday, you need to complete your stay during the following date ranges for it to be eligible:

  • November 18 through November 29, 2016
  • December 18, 2016, through January 2, 2017

The sale does have a few exclusion dates; it doesn’t apply to arrivals on November 27 through 29. However, if you arrive before that period, the sale still applies. For example, you can arrive on November 26 and check out on November 28, and you’ll receive the discount rate even though you are staying on the night of November 27 as well.

Hilton Honors November 2016 Flash Sale

As a Hilton Honors member, you’ll receive 20% off your qualifying stays at most Hilton properties. If you aren’t a member, there’s still a 15% discount, but you can sign up during the booking process to receive the full 20%.

Conrad and Waldorf Astoria hotels are slightly different; they give a discount of $15 (instead of 15%) to non-Honors members, and 20% to Honors members. Long story short, register for a Hilton Honors account if you don't already have one.

The Good News

Unlike many hotel sales, the list of “participating … hotels and resorts” in this one isn’t limited to a few undesirable properties that it’s hard to imagine many people would want to visit. Instead, several searches for different areas, and dates reveal a plethora of options; this seems to cover most (if not all) Hilton Portfolio properties for the dates of the promotion. However, the number of rooms available is limited, so book quickly to be sure you get in on the sale.

The Catches

  • This sale is only for Hilton properties in the US, Latin America, and Canada. Properties outside these areas (in Europe or Asia, for example) are not included.
  • Stays beginning on November 27, 28, or 29 do not qualify.
  • If you arrive on December 31, 2016 (New Year’s Eve), some locations require that you book two nights to qualify for the sale.
  • These sale stays must be fully paid for at the time of booking, and cannot be canceled or refunded.
  • The discount percentages apply only to the room cost, not to taxes, fees, or other charges.

Our Verdict

It looks like Hilton has jumped on an opportunity to capitalize on what might be a lull in bookings for them by offering the promo — which makes sense. Business travel around Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years is typically down. Offering up a promotion to book in and around these times makes perfect sense to fill empty beds. We hope you'll be able to take advantage of the promotion and save a few bucks.

Whilst not directly related to this article, I’ve found that whilst my Hhonors balance is still updating each time I update, any new hotel bookings are not automatically appearing, whereas they used to. Is this correct behaviour?
