On your next Hilton stay as a Gold or Diamond status holder, you'll enjoy an array of staple benefits, courtesy of your elite tier. But that's not all. You'll also be able to choose from a selection of MyWay benefits, allowing you to decide how you want to be rewarded at 19 of Hilton's brands.

From free food to bonus points, here's what Hilton loyalists need to know about MyWay benefits.

What Are Hilton MyWay Benefits?

Hilton's MyWay benefits are the choice perks you can enjoy on your next Hilton stay. Depending on the hotel brand, the MyWay benefits menu could include Hilton Honors bonus points, food and beverage credits, or complimentary drinks and snacks.

While there's something to be said about choosing the perks you want and will actually use, the MyWay benefits come with a catch. You'll need to select them before you stay at a specific brand. Otherwise, Hilton will automatically give you the default choice for a given brand.

After you choose a benefit for a brand, such as DoubleTree, you'll continue to enjoy the same perk each time you check in to a DoubleTree until you update your MyWay selection.

Making a selection is simple, and there's often a clear choice of what you should pick.

How to get Hilton MyWay benefits

Hilton's MyWay benefits are reserved for Gold and Diamond elite status holders. You'll need to hold either tier to pick and choose which benefits you want to enjoy on your next Hilton stay.

To earn Hilton Gold status, you must stay 40 nights at a Hilton property, complete 20 stays, or earn 75,000 base points in a calendar year.

Another path to Gold status involves opening a credit card that offers it as a perk. The roster of cards that gift Hilton Gold for as long as you carry it in your wallet and pay the annual fee include:

Hilton Diamond elite status is achievable after 60 nights in Hilton properties, 30 completed stays, or 120,000 base points. Even easier: You can open Hilton's most premium consumer credit card, the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, which provides Diamond status as a built-in perk.

How to choose Hilton MyWay benefits

To select your MyWay benefits, you can do one of two things. First, you can visit this link and proceed to the MyWay benefits page. Second, you can visit Hilton.com and sign in, click “Profile” at the top of the screen, and then select “MyWay benefits.”

You can change your MyWay benefit preference at each brand by clicking “Update your selection.” Choose the benefit you want and hit “Save.” It's that easy.

Unfortunately, you'll need to go brand by brand to update your selection at each of Hilton's brands. What you choose for one brand won't apply to all the others. Part of this is because each brand offers different variations of MyWay benefits.

What Benefits Are Available at Each Hilton Hotel?

Hilton offers a choice of MyWay benefits at 19 brands. You won't get a choice at LivSmart Studios by Hilton; you'll get 250 bonus points no matter what.

Note that benefits containing food and beverage credits or complimentary continental breakfast are good for the lead booker and up to one additional guest on your reservation. And yes, this applies to each night of your stay. The only stipulation is that members provided breakfast in Executive Lounges aren't eligible for daily food and beverage credits.

And for properties offering a variable value of credits, you'll find the higher dollar amount — usually $18 — in select U.S. markets, including:

  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Washington, D.C.
  • New York City
  • San Francisco
  • Key Largo
  • Key West
  • Los Angeles
  • Hawaii

Without further ado, here's a look at the currently available MyWay benefits each Hilton brand offers.

Which MyWay Benefits Should You Pick?

Unless you don't plan on dining at your Hilton hotel — and it doesn't offer complimentary breakfast — the best choice nine times out of 10 is the one offering a food and beverage credit or continental breakfast. Meals at a Hilton hotel can cost a pretty penny, and saving on the final bill or getting free food is far more valuable than banking a few bonus points.

500 to 1,000 points are worth between $2.90 and $5.80, based on the average value of 0.59¢ apiece AwardWallet users have extracted from Hilton points on recent redemptions.

Complimentary breakfast or a food and beverage credit worth north of $10 is worth far more than a small amount of bonus points. It's not even close.

The menu looks different at properties that offer breakfast on the house, like Hampton Inn or Homewood Suites. You'll have the option of bonus points or a snack and drink. No matter how you spin it, you'll bank at most $2.90 worth of Hilton Honors points — or a bite to eat likely worth the same amount. Thus, there's no clear choice at Hilton's budget-friendly properties.

Final Thoughts

Once you've leveled up to Hilton Honors Gold or Diamond, take some time to set your MyWay benefit preferences. On each stay, you'll get rewarded, whether it's with free or nearly free food or bonus points. Making a selection ensures you're rewarded how you want — a solid perk of holding Hilton Honors elite status.
