Melia Hotels is currently offering up to 15,000 bonus Melia Rewards points and up to 30% discount at qualifying stays booked before May 16, 2021.
If you're not familiar with Melia, you're not alone. Although Melia Rewards is a supported program on AwardWallet, this is the first time we have covered a Melia Hotels promotion. Although most of the hotels in the chain are located in Spain, there are a few in the Americas: 2 in the US (New York and Orlando) and 8 in Mexico. And this promotion could be the perfect reason to check one out.
15,000 Bonus Melia Rewards Points and 30% Off Promotion
Until May 16, 2021, Melia Hotels is offering a 30% discount at select hotels for stays before December 31, 2021. In addition, Melia Rewards bonus points will be awarded between 5,000 and 15,000, depending on the property you stay at.

Our Take
It seems hotel chains worldwide are dropping their rates significantly in a bid to get customers back. Although you might not have heard of Melia Hotels before, this might be a good time to try them out. Of course, the Melia Rewards points will be more valuable if you plan to spend a lot of time in Spain in the coming months or years.

The hotels of this chain are not bad and so this offer could be a good opportunity of earning more points.
Anyway, I think I’ll not spend any holidays in Spain this year (very few hotels are located outside Spain).
Could you post some sweet spots for Spain as well? (if there are any)
Be warned points expire after 12 months without any account activity. Maybe better to transfer to the points to any partners where possible.
There are a few in Germany and the UK too if you can actually make it there.
As cool as the card is for Spain, it’s pretty specific to hotel stays, and at current airfare is more costly than the actual hotel stay.
Bonuses are nice but it is better if hotels just drop their rates permanently. I dont have plans to go to Spain so this is a pass for me.
I don’t know how Melia rewards compares to other competitors. Are there any sweet spots?
