Every spring, National Car Rental rolls out a fan-favorite: the One Two Free promotion for Emerald Club members. This limited-time offer lets you earn a free rental day after every two qualifying rentals, and longer trips can help you get there even faster. This year, the offer runs from April 6 through June 7, 2026.
Here’s how it works and how to get the most out of it.

National Car Rental Emerald Club ‘One Two Free' Promotion
Emerald Club members can earn one free rental day for every two eligible rentals of two or more consecutive days. Even better, longer rentals count as multiple rentals, so you can rack up free days without needing to book several separate trips.
To qualify, you’ll need to register for the promotion before your rentals are completed. Then, rent a midsize or larger vehicle from National in the U.S or Canada between April 6 and June 7, 2026.
Also make sure your account is set to earn Emerald Club credits — not airline miles or other partner rewards — so you receive credit toward free rental days.

Earning additional free days with longer rentals
Each qualifying rental of two to seven days counts as one credit toward a free rental day. But if you rent for more than a week, National awards additional credits based on the total number of days. The table below outlines how it works:

Even though a longer rental can count for multiple credits, you still need to complete at least two rentals to unlock your free days. For example, if you rent a car for 15 days, you’ll earn three credits — but you’ll need a second eligible rental to actually redeem those credits.
Here’s how that plays out in practice:
- If you complete two rentals of 24 to 27 days during the promotion, you’d earn 12 total credits. Since every two credits unlock one free day, that results in 6 free rental days.
- If you complete one 12-day rental (which counts as three credits) and another 2-day rental (one credit), that’s four credits total, which are good for 2 free rental days.
Redeeming Promotional Free Days
Promotional Free Days cover the base rate of your rental (time and mileage). You’ll still be responsible for taxes, fees, surcharges, refueling, drop-off or delivery charges, additional drivers, and any other extras.
You can redeem up to three Promotional Free Days per rental of three or more days.
Keep in mind that these free days can’t be combined with other discounts or promotions, and they also can’t be used alongside Emerald Club Program Free Days. You can check your balance in your Emerald Club account dashboard.
Any unused Promotional Free Days earned through this offer will expire on December 31, 2026.

Our Take
If you plan to rent a car from National this spring, the National Emerald Club One Two Free promotion is well worth signing up for. With a simple registration and just two qualifying rentals, you’ll unlock a free day — no coupons or complex hoops to jump through.
Even better, if one of your rentals is longer than a week, you’re just one short rental away from earning a free day. Just make sure you’ve opted to earn Emerald Club credits and booked a midsize or larger vehicle — then enjoy the ride (and the rewards).
