American Airlines AAdvantage members can save on their next rental car while picking up a few extra miles. Through August 31, 2026, eligible Avis and Budget rentals in the U.S. and Canada qualify for up to 35% off base rates plus 500 bonus AAdvantage miles on rentals of four or more consecutive days.

American Airlines and Avis/Budget Rental Car Promotion
American Airlines partners with several major rental car companies, giving AAdvantage members another way to earn miles and Loyalty Points without flying.
When you book an eligible Avis or Budget rental and provide your AAdvantage number via the AAdvantage Cars portal, you'll earn miles and Loyalty Points based on your rental spending. Standard AAdvantage members earn 2 miles and Loyalty Points per dollar, while eligible AAdvantage credit cardholders and elite members earn even more.
Save up to 35% and earn 500 bonus AAdvantage miles
Through August 31, 2026, AAdvantage members can receive:
- Up to 35% off Avis base rates using AWD K817113
- Up to 30% off Budget base rates using BCD U072404
- 500 bonus AAdvantage miles on qualifying rentals of 4 or more consecutive days at participating airport locations in the U.S. and Canada
In addition to the 500 bonus miles, members will continue to earn base AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points on eligible rentals:
- AAdvantage members: 2 miles and Loyalty Points per dollar
- AAdvantage credit cardholders (without elite status): 3 miles and Loyalty Points per dollar
- AAdvantage Gold and Platinum members: 4 miles and Loyalty Points per dollar
- AAdvantage Platinum Pro and Executive Platinum members: 5 miles and Loyalty Points per dollar

Our Take
This isn't the most generous American Airlines rental promotion we've seen, but it's an easy opportunity to stack a rental discount with extra AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points if you were planning to rent from Avis or Budget anyway.
The 500-mile bonus alone isn't likely to sway your booking decision. However, if the discounted rate is competitive after factoring in the $1.50-per-day frequent flyer surcharge, this promotion can provide a nice boost toward your next AAdvantage redemption while also helping you earn additional Loyalty Points towards status.
