Plastiq has launched its latest promo in response to RadPad shutting down its Pay with RadPad service unannounced, or perhaps just to extend its latest promotion (curious timing if it’s the latter).

Plastic announced a slightly modified deal to last month’s promo which allows you to pay rent or mortgage payments with a MasterCard, with fees of only 1.75%. Adding the option to pay using an Amex card for 2.25%; both fees offer a 0.25% reduction from the standard rate.

Offer Details

Similar to the promo Plastiq ran last month, if you schedule 6 or more rent or mortgage transactions before October 31, 2016, you’ll pay 1.75% on MasterCard payments, and 2.25% on Amex payments, a 0.25% discount on the normal rate. The scheduled payments can be as far into the future as you’d like, as long as they are locked in by Oct 31.

Per the terms on Plastiq’s blog:

  1. Schedule 6 or more payments, and schedule them as far into the future as you’d like.
  2. Make sure those payments are for rent or mortgage
  3. Use a MasterCard OR American Express
  4. Do it before October 31, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. PT

Things to remember

  • Remember to click “Set Payment Schedule” and not “Review & Pay Now.”
  • The only limit is your credit card’s expiration date

What is Plastiq?

Plastiq allows you to make payments for any bill with your credit or debit cards. It provides an excellent way to earn rewards for things you usually wouldn’t use a credit card for, such as paying rent or utilities. If you don’t have an account yet, Plastiq sign up is free.

Final Thoughts

It’s a shame to see RadPad dropping the Pay with RadPad service, even more so considering it was done with almost no notice (and not the first time RadPad has pulled the pin without notice), and has more than likely left a few points and miles enthusiasts hanging uncomfortably out to dry if that was a plan to meet minimum spend for one or more cards.

If you have a MasterCard or Amex, you are looking to meet the minimum spend on, this deal from Plastiq might be the perfect opportunity to hustle your minimum spend requirements a little faster than planned. Or, in the case of Pay by RadPad users, this promo may save your bacon somewhat.

AwardWallet Tip of The Day
Did you know that we display your elite status progress within the list of accounts? Each block in this progress bar represents an elite level. If you mouse over any of the blocks, it'll tell you the name of that elite level. Clicking it will open the account details on the 'Elite Levels' tab which tells you exactly where you are regarding your elite status and what you need to do to reach the next level.
